Heard about this today. What a tragic story. RIP to those beautiful children. He clearly has deep schizophrenia. I'm no excusing this heinous act, but he is describing profound voices and visions of a destructive nature, that is exactly what schizophrenia is, although it rarely reaches this extreme level; but I do believe the man was insane at the time of these tragic murders due to severe and persistent mental illness and if so it's likely he has been all his adult life but probably hadn't been getting proper treatment for it. My heart goes out to the whole family of those children.
