Yeah I don't agree with property tax in most cases. Maybe all.
And it's absolutely vile that local officials use lack of payment for property taxes as an excuse to take your home, which is a crime against humanity and the rule of decency.
It is morally repugnant and reprehensible on all levels.
For one it is a grossly unequal exchange, usually by a 10:1 margin or more. What happens in these cases its literally HOME THEFT and FAMILY EVICTION, which is always amoral, unacceptable and vile. But hey, that would make it perfect for the demons who have control here.
We need public funds for public needs and services but there are other ways to provide them than private household property taxes or income taxes.
I have a big problem with the way taxes are assessed in this country in general. I do NOT support 99.8% of current tax law, esp where the top 5% and big business gets infinite breaks and majority of the tax load is placed on average people. This should be the exact reverse.
Also I'm not just comfortable with any govt structure demanding the right to take what you worked for under threat of violence. Is this really fair???? Should a group of people be able to take what is yours by force, regardless of their title? I don't think so. However, if taxes on the 99% were light, nobody would much mind, principles aside. However, taxes on average people AREN'T always light, and this is the main problem.
I support generous public services but all these needs can easily be funded through taxes on big business, the 1% and federal spending, which SHOULD be high but it isn't, as this federal/state gestapo gangster murder cartel doesn't like to help any common citizen. It's a criminal cartel set up to nurture and protect big business and corporate profit by all available means, not the 99%, meaning us. This is another problem.

I mean for me it's a very simple- it comes down to how much power do you want an outside authority to have? If people want to bow down and worship authority or violence no matter how abusive it gets I guess that's their prerogative but I don't want to live that way. No thank you. If people want the citizens to be a pseudoslave I guess that's their prerogative but I don't share that view. People seem to have it twisted here, they think we exist to serve the feds and the governmental structure, not the other way around.
I'm all for fair courts, Fair legal procedures, fair whatever, with many levels of independent oversight and checks and balances, and the right to seek help from State force if one so desires it. But I don't agree with the prison State in its current form, I don't agree with most cops, I don't agree with cops being able to do whatever the hell they want and having total impunity the way we do now, I don't agree with the prison industrial complex, I don't agree with the 1984 pseudo-State we have now, I don't agree with a lot of it. I don't agree with drugs or the drug trade being illegal nope sure don't. I don't agree with large corpos and Wall Street being able to run away with everything and I don't agree with the current extent of IP law. I don't agree with the public not having a say on many matters, we should have direct voting on most items, other than those that are self-evident to be needed immediately & serve a life-affirming purpose; etc. I don't agree with HOAs because I mean, for SO many obvious reasons. I don't agree that cops have the right to occupy public land at any time for ANY purpose without being on an emergency call or a legitimate investigation. That means all patrolling, stalking and the endless river of thieving & unnecessary bodysnatching they get away with must be stopped IMMEDIATELY, it's crime that we've all been nass brainwashed to accept as normal! It's CRIME ffs!! Its not right.
There's a LOT I don't agree with. We can have a small State while still managing our affairs in a positive, efficient, forward-thinking way that serves everyone.
I'm all for rational fair and positive public management that strives to serve the needs of everyone while doing its best not to infringe on citizens' autonomy.

Yes it's very sad and enraging. I've watched several explosive documentaries on this issue. It's incredibly tragic. Basically state and federal regulators are ruthless thugs (or do their best imitation of one) and seemed to take special pleasure in destroying or attempting to destroy the small family operations in their jurisdiction. It's utterly bizarre. You have to wonder how they got to be that way I mean it's. .. it's nothing that any normal human being with a normal conscience and a rational brain would behave like.
The small competitor and the small business is at risk in every industry. Around me I see them going after small cannabis shops and getting them shut down or forcing them to move across the county or switch to a delivery-only platform. Of course I know this problem goes far beyond just legal weed shops.
So long as you have dirty judges and disgusting State Police Pigs and local police that will do the will of these corrupt judges without question, whose judges will then obey the corrupt policies of shamelessly bought-and-sold politicians and industry regulators, then we're going to have a problem.
Small operators in every industry are at real risk. Big business is a ginormous ruthless cartel in this country and they have their fingers everywhere. If small operators come under fire by a big player, they always seems to be those in government or enforcement that will be more than happy to target them without a a second thought.
Once you're attacked by these people you can stop being naive. I hope nobody watches these shorts ever says back the blue. As I always say, don't say back to Blue they will never ever back you. They exist to thief serve and protect themselves at YOUR expense. and if you're not a big player AKA a big corporate big shot in some way or another, the local state or federal agencies almost certainly don't give a flying f*** about you and, if convenient or if they need to just help themselves to some quick cash may come and raid your business on alleged Petty violations, or just make new ones up on the spot. That's how they've been attacking all the small independent cannabis shops in my area.
Unfortunately these people have no conscience. Their predators. If they see you as easy game they're going to target you.
We can make better laws and that's one good step forward if we could ever get there, which it seems like we can't, but again, everything depends upon enforcement and justice in the courts and that is something I have seen is just as rare in this place.
I'm not sure what the perfect solution is but we have to keep fighting for one that's for sure.

People just don't understand that in this country, it's quite clear that those who who ascend to public office here have very little conscience. This seems to have been a constant over many generations.
This isn't the right or left thing and I started realizing this long before I subscribe to this channel.
Unfortunately it seems quite clear to me now that in a very large number of cases, you cannot count on your public officials or publicly elected persons to care about you in this country or even try to do the right thing. They answer to big-money donors and big money interests and not you. They're in it for themselves, and to satisfy whatever big money interests are behind them.
If you think your party of choice cares about you I'm sorry, please think again. This is equally true of the GOP or the Dems.
The GOP-controlled Texas has sold it to the large corporations (which of course has happened in every state) which has directly and indirectly killed quite a few Texans over the past several years.
By and large public officials in this country only care about themselves feel little to no obligation or responsibility towards the public that they claim to represent/make decisions for.
I'm on the far Left but that doesn't mean I would ever vote for any Democrats anymore. Democrats aren't on the Left; they're just as much corporate and elite money-captured as anyone else. It was Democrats who poisoned Flint and then lied and intentionally buried the evidence over and over and over again to cover it up; acts which caused very significant and real harm to thousands of men, women, and children, mostly poor and minority. There were severe consequences from that that those people are still living with. To my knowledge it has still not been made right, almost 10 years later, and nobody guilty has been brought to justice.
It's a good idea not to trust or respect any public official in this country. Either they're criminally incompetent by choice or because they can't do any better, or openly malicious or sociopathic or disregarding of the needs or rights of the public that they claim to serve.
Are there a few public officeholders out there who are generally decent and generally mean well? I'm sure there are, but I don't believe they're the majority, I just don't. I've lived too long and seen too much malfeasance at this point. Of course there's plenty of malfeasance in the private sector also, no doubt about that, but we're talking about the public one right now.
Just be aware that in a significant majority of cases in my opinion, public officials in this country are anything from truly incapable or genuinely clueless and useless, to openly hostile, harmful or indifferent to their constituents or their sphere of the public that their office is supposed to administer to.
Whether you're on the right or the left these cases really aren't the exception.
Hurricane Katrina wouldn't have been near the apocalyptic catastrophe that it was if local city officials hadn't completely paved the way for that disaster 15 years prior by refusing to reinforce and shore up the city's levies, and had not chosen to remove massive swaths of the mangrove forest which conduct a vital buttressing function against hurricanes and ocean swells. Was it because they weren't warned and begged not to do so by scientists and civil engineers? No not at all, quite the opposite. But Big Real Estate controlled them all apparently and wanted to build over the mangroves. As to why they didn't at least build up their levies better, knowing the potential for heavy damage if they got a bad storm, god who knows. I guess they hated the city they had chosen to manage.
You'd think that's one thing - basic weather safety - we could all agree on. God forbid one spends money on vital public infrastructure.
There's going to be a lot of suffering in this country until we find a way to control the people who get into public office better. Because right now the vast majority of them are basically what I would call a quasi-sociopath. Weather we vote or don't vote, regardless of what their political party affiliation is at the end of the day, I don't believe hardly a single one of them gives a single flip about any of us. And I believe this goes all the way back to the early 1800s.
Look at what East Palestine, Ohio is dealing with right now. The governor and the state's EPA doesn't care about them them, are you kidding? They answer to Norfolk Southern, the big villains in this story. Industry and big real estate has been running it's own people for public office or public agency positions for decades - and when they win, which they often do, of course they make sure that that office will never stand in the way of anything Industry or Big Real Estate wants, or if they're a politician, will take the bribes aka campaign donations and always vote the way they're told.
It's wise to have a healthy distrust if not an outright hatred for the vast majority of public officials in this country. I wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them. They just don't seem to have any ethics or willingness to have any sense of responsibility towards those they claim to represent. Until this changes, regardless of one's political persuasion, we need to be on our guard and constantly watching our back around these people.
I won't say all government is bad, some of it is useful and necessary, but as anyone who's been following this channel and probably has just lived a little bit of life knows, those who occupy it can frequently become tyrannical, abusive or flagrantly criminal. Even in some cases downright evil. Local, county, state, or federal – for the 90% of us that are average Joes, we just need to be aware that the vast majority of people in this government don't work for us and don't care about us, regardless of what their lying mouth says, and always be willing to fight back. The challenge is finding a lawyer who's not a coward or just uninterested to take our case, but we have to keep trying. In my life experience so far, I see people who ascend to government, public agency, or legal positions in this country as selfish, cold-hearted, crooked, often criminal, and, esp of police, frequently bullies or predators.
I wish it was otherwise but it doesn't seem to be. We can help ourselves by staying aware, always educating ourselves about their continued misdeeds, and forming or joining various citizens' defense groups, both militia and legal.
TDLR: I don't really know why but a great number of public officials here are simply terrible people, for whatever reason. This is bad for us. Let's stay aware and be willing to fight back if and when we need to.

Fantastic news. Good to hear that the good guys won one. Not to be too dramatic but as it seems that we live in a time of complete social decay and government complicity in such, news like this seems harder and harder to find.
Ah yes ruling by paradox AKA what EVERY county does in this union. Such as how they choose to levy massive fines against you if you don't pay a simple traffic ticket but then when you can't pay such resulting extortionate criminally excessive fines they take your driver's license, meaning if you get caught driving they can then take your car and ransom it back to you at even more extortionate rates- I've had to live through this pleasurable experience at least a dozen times by now. It's called debt trapping and municipal city councils are quite happy and proud of it. Of course it's criminal but who's going to stop them? The feds?? The state? Lol sure. So they demand huge sums of money from you but legally take away your right and your way to earn of that money. Police are such absolutely satanic operators I've told these monsters "look I'm homeless right now so even if I wanted to abstain from using my vehicle I don't have a choice" and they still towed it on a handful of occasions. Let nobody think for one second that anybody in a position of power in this country has a conscience. They don't. Five minutes as a poor person, a street person, or a marginalized demographic will cure you of that idea real fast.
I mean how can they sit there and look you straight in the face demand you pay $3000 when you have nothing and say "but you don't have the right to use your car because we took your license"??? I literally had to do three weeks in jail one time because I couldn't afford my low bail when I got arrested for two driving on suspended license tickets. Being temporarily homeless I suppose I was just supposed to sit on the sidewalk all day and do nothing since legally they were trying to tell me I didn't have the right to use my personal vehicle because I couldn't pay thousands of dollars in extortion from another state, because by the way, all 50 states are linked up in a database so if you get license revoked in one state they'll ban you from renewing it in another state. I mean obviously they have to trap you like this in order to force you to pay their extortion, otherwise if they violate your basic rights in such a manner in one state you can simply relocate to another state, renew your license. And what started all this in my case? When I received two minor traffic tickets which all together I think totaled no more than $150 several years prior in VA, altho it could have been anywhere. Of course this is all a criminal money-making scheme, literally a grand theft auto racket and mass extortion, completely illegal under federal law but who's going to stop them????
This racket has happened in just about every zip code I've ever lived in. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
Let everyone realize that government is just another name for gangsterism. Just another name. There is literally zero daylight between them. Zero. It's essentially evil and definitely amoral.
I don't know what's wrong with the animals who hold public office here, but they are always shameless, both towards average citizens and even more so those in need. Absolutely shameless. They are corrupt, hateful cruel, sociopathic and proudly so, and in my eyes, criminal. This particular area here isn't even that big from all appearances, so you might expect a little bit better decency perhaps, but as we can see how, that would be mistaken.
It never ceases to boggle my mind the immorality and utter lack of empathy proudly displayed by all of those in a public position of authority in this country. In this case these are people that just need help. I don't know what rent costs are locally but as politicians are absolutely corrupt amoral trash and as they utterly refuse to limit the cost of rent, they are pushing more and more people into in unhoused status, combined with other factors from.
We need MORE shelters, many more, not less, and I can't understand why anyone would oppose this small unobtrusive building regardless of it's purpose. It's not like if there's ever a problem the police can't be called. And of course it's in an appropriate location away from schools and residential zoning, not that really that should bother anybody because I've been homeless before and I don't understand this insane prejudice towards homeless people as if they're just monsters and Tasmanian devils waiting to strike at anyone and to eat your kids. I know I wasn't like that and nobody around me was when I was temporarily homeless either. In fact we were incredibly average and if you looked at us you'd never know that we temporarily didn't have a fixed address. Even the more traditionally thought of homeless people that appear sloppy aren't trying to harm you. In fact they just want to be left alone! Believe me they're praying you and the Pigs will leave them alone so they can exist in peace, since they feel no one's trying to help them, all they want is to be not agressed on by anyone in a uniform but that seems to be impossible in many localities.
I DON'T understand the hate towards the homeless from metro city councils which is then carried out without thinking by local cops who are nothing but meat machines who have no conscience because they'll mindlessly carry out any order no matter how indecent it is, and that's EVERYWHERE you go. I've been homeless before and a lot of times I've been able to make it through the night unbothered, but other times I haven't been so lucky. The campaign against street homeless by police and councils is something to this day I cannot fathom and honestly it should not be legal. This is harassment and cruelty based on one's economic status and it's wrong on every level. Every one. It's like back in the old days of harassment based on skin color or religious affiliation. And it's accepted everywhere just like Jim Crow was back in our grandparents' time.
I guess I'm the only one that's disgusted by it and finds it shocking that it's allowed and it's considered normal and it's organized and systematic.

You're off on this one. It should actually come from the personal accounts of the SWAT officers involved, they were the ones who did it and made the decision. They were out there having fun; it was not necessary to do what they did. If they want to play GI Joe then they can clean up after themselves or pay for their damages. It's a simple as that. It's about holding the guilty party accountable. Besides you act like this is all going to come from one taxpayer. It all goes into the same pot, the local municipality. It's not like we can say "oh that's Joe's taxes". Technically it's everyone's and that's fine for the time being. There is no alternative at the moment. The City can pay the damages and send a message to the PD to be more careful next time. They can also dock the PD's budget this amount.
I'm not shocked the city of LA is fighting this. They are the lowest filth of the filth out there. I live in San Diego and I follow them a lot. All metro city governments are terrible though. They'll steal, rob and extort local citizens until the cows come home but the moment it comes to pay something for a citizen's benefit, they're nowhere to be found. It's gross.
Please don't bootlick. These stupid cops are out here because they have no useful skills and have no intention of working for a living and some of them are downright malignant or dangerous. They're giant toddlers that just want to smash sh6t up.

Drugs are kept illegal so cops and other government officials can steal billions of dollars every year. If drugs weren't legal they would have no justification to steal from us. They would have no purpose for existing. They can't just stop us for no reason, well they do that, but without a zero-tolerance on drugs they have no flimsy justification to violate our rights add to stalk and pursue us and to engage in immoral stops and illegal violating searches.
The only reason mass incarceration and a blue cartel exists is because Congress claims they're trying to stop all drugs and drug use which is absolutely outrageous of course because everybody knows that's beyond impossible. You CANNOT prohibit people from using something that they want to use-they will always find a way, they found that out very quickly with alcohol prohibition in the 1930s. Contrary to what the monsters in Congress think, people are NOT just going to bend over and obey every time they open their mouth. But that won't stop these satanic demons from doing everything in their power to destroy us in order to force their will upon us. And this is Carrie. All down the line, from governors tomatoes refused to stop the lawless blue cartel from comedian organized crime in our municipalities and on our highways. Every single one of them is complicit in it. And this just goes to show how absolutely little, meaning nothing, they care about the public they claim to serve. They don't care that these pigs are out here committing crime and terrorism, these mayors and governors, they could care less. Mayors especially liked having a blue army at their command because this makes it easy to torment the local homeless population, and they use the jail and call racket to the maximum, which is a favorite activity of every mayor I've ever known.
Congress knows there's no way to possibly stop the trade and use of drugs, but but that doesn't stop them from trying. They couldn't subjugate millions of poor people and black people without it. They claim that they have the right to make drugs illegal even though I would say they don't at all because nobody has the right to tell another adult what they can and cannot do with their own body nor what kinds of consenting business or personal trade they can engage in. These are human rights that every human being has the right to choose for themselves. Any right that infringes on a person's human right to make their own personal life choices, to choose what to do with their own body and what kinds of business they choose to engage in is an immoral law and should be fought against without end.
Because Congress is an inherently criminal entity that exists to justify subjugation and grand theft, they have to come up with things to keep illegal to justify the blue cartel getting away with constant murder and billions of dollars of rampant theft every year. Congress doesn't care about anyone, they only care about subjugating people and keeping that permanent underclass, and mass incarceration is the way to do that. This comes with allowing Pigs to prowl the streets for no other reason but to detain drivers and violate all of their civil and human rights in order to try to generate mass arrests and thefts of money. It's organized crime. It's evil, but nobody stopping it. Psychopaths will never stop themselves so it's beholden upon others to stop evildoers from doing their evil. Clearly there's not a single human being of conscience in any public position in this country because nobody absolutely NOBODY is stopping the Blue Crime Family from operating all day and all night everywhere.
The greatest organized-crime racket in this country isn't some family with an Italian name, it's Street "police". They aren't there for safety, they're there to steal everything you HAVE and to try to funnel people into jail for usually very minor charges. Since bail exists in this country, and bail violates human rights, since arrests are profitized in this country, the incentive to make maximum arrests thereby generating millions of dollars in bail for counties all across the country, continues. Counties make huge money on profitized arrests that's why they maintained as largest police forces they can get away with. The jail, bail and court racket goes strong in this country in every single county. It's a racket and a tool of subjugation on the poor, nothing more.

I guarantee every single hotel or motel, from the smallest mom-and-pop operation of to the biggest chain, have had gobs of illegal illegal activity taking place on their property, and it is NOT the proprietors' responsibility or fault if this occurs. THEY CANNOT REASONABLY BE EXPECTED TO CONTROL WHAT HAPPENS ON EVERY CORNER OF THEIR PARKING LOT AT EVERY MOMENT, OR BEHIND THE DOOR OF EACH PRIVATE ROOM.
This behavior from the DEA or any other government agency violates the principle of REASONABLE EXPECTATION, ergo it falls flat on its face. It's a gross obvious money grab, and if there's any judges left in this country of conscience, the case should have been thrown out on its face.
We need to start seeing the federal apparatus for the massive criminal entity that it really is. It's nothing more than other people that claim to have more rights than you, and we have to reject that.
There would be no motels or hotels left in this country if they were all seized due to so-called "illegal" activity.
"Illegal". What a cute code word. Government cartel thugs have gotten away with so many crimes against humanity and eye watering amounts of grand theft simply because they've been able to throw out that word, and as all court rulings hinge on what is so-called legal versus illegal, they always get away with it.

The thing is I don't oppose the existence of laws themselves, provided they're limited, circumspect and appropriate; I oppose property theft or seizures based on violations of said laws. Unless there's an entire estate which was created due to child sex-trafficking, the government has no right to take what is yours for any reason, supposed illegal activity or no.

The shit is simple and complicated at the same time. We live under a fascist corporate dictatorship right now, from HOAs to the ruthless pursuit of small farmers by corp giants, holistic docs by big pharma, to the gross overextension imo, of IP law regarding online downloading, otherwise called a pirating or filesharing and so on.
Marginalized communities are constantly oppressed and poverty is getting worse. How to resolve these? We have car primacy everywhere and not nearly enough appreciation of multimodal forms of public transit. I believe I have the answers but who am I? If I come out being on the far left I turn some people off, if I come out as a mostly civil libertarian I turn others off.
If I say I'm for open borders because I'm compassionate other people shut down. If I say I have no problem with businesses making a profit because that's what they're there for, but I don't believe it should be unlimited or totally unregulated, I turn others off. I say I love most of the sincere public sector but I hate most cops. I guess there's no way to ever appeal to everybody. I say tenants' lives matter because we do, but I also understand that landlords need to make a profit to make it worth their time.
I think it's pretty clear the big $$ owns, controls, directions & commands both mainstream political parties equally (the red/blue uniparty I call them).
You may not like redistributive financial policies but I see no other way to end poverty. And so the debates begin.
It's kind of a mess. All I know is for sure is thad I hate Big Brother always ready with yet another jackboot with a shove or a smile coming to steal what I have YET AGAIN or stop me on the side of the road for some oppression (I'm W btw but can happen to anyone), telling me I can't enjoy the beauty of a night evening in a public park simply because it's no longer daylight, unjustly sequestering our public spaces either on a time basis or just because (this really offends me); showing intentional cruelty to the unhoused simply because they're in need, I am pretty convinced that our courts in this country are mostly fixed, either intentionally or through poor oversight and poor procedures/bad incentives, and that's just not good.
Ugh its a fuggin mess and I'm still figuring out where I stand and what if anything I hope to do about it.

It was a disgusting and ugly thing that Reagan (an absolute dirtbag or at a minimum of puppet of calculating dirtbags, but that's pretty much all the feds so,) tapped into when he spun the lies of the welfare queens. Nobody talks about welfare queens when it was poor W people getting the help but the moment that we closed the racial gap suddenly there's a problem? That's not right. Besides, the biggest welfare queens in this country are the people and corp interests at the top, that's where billions of subsidies and pure handouts go, not those at the bottom just trying to scrape by hand to mouth. Maybe if there was more control of the private sector, larger companies wouldn't be able to shed workers like underwear and chase poverty wages around the world thus preventing layoffs and offshoring. This is why I'm a pretty committed communist on $$ issues, bec I stand with Labor. I have to, I've been a worker all my life and while I may or may not consider starting my own small business someday, I'm always going to be a worker. I never came from money and I doubt I'll ever have much money and that's fine. As long as I have enough to have a reasonable standard of living that will be perfectly acceptable.
You wouldn't imply that a W girl is out here intentionally having babies with all different fathers just for the welfare benefits. And I doubt you'd say that to a Blk person's face so just be careful, it's easy to get carried away by old outdated abusive hateful dehumanizing stereotypes even if we don't mean to. It's really not fair to anyone to be talked about that way and I don't know anybody who actually lives like that. Plus you wouldn't want people to get married who really didn't love each other and who weren't mature enough to make a real go of it. That just leads to misery and disadvantage and in some cases child abuse or abandonment down the line. It's much better for two people to stay separated but share childrearing in the case of unplanned pregnancy if they aren't in love (and don't choose to abort). There's nothing wrong with being a singular unwed parent, this isn't the 1800s anymore and a person's personal religious beliefs are a private matter and should have absolutely no bearing on our social attitudes. Same for abortion, same for stem cell research, everything. One of the most perceptive concepts that the FFs did get right was the separation of church and State so I always give them credit for that. What's important is that any child has the best possible start in life and that means material security and at least one parent who is responsible and loves them. Two is wonderful and ideal, but at least one is what matters. Nobody should stay married to somebody who isn't ready just because of some piece of paper. Nobody benefits from that. I'm not here to judge on anyone based on their early life experiences, we all have a lot of shared values or we wouldn't be here right now, so all I'm saying is let's just try to be aware and cognizant of the old harmful attitudes we have that we've picked up over the years that might have been more accepted in previous times but are rightfully no longer accepted by sincere well-meaning people today. We can do better now. Racism, fear, xenophobia, ignorance, classism; these aren't things that people like us should be subscribing to. We are much better than that and we should be striving to raise others up to our level.
For the record I'm over 40 so I'm not young if that's what you're thinking. I've been there done that. I think we agree on a lot more than we disagree and I don't really think we disagree other than just have areas where we place more emphasis than others. I totes agree that those in a position of public roles often do a great deal of harm either intentionally or unintentionally, directly or indirectly, with a lot of measures they bring forth however, that doesn't mean that there should be no public management. We have to try to do a better job going forward. There are some key areas where we need to have non-profit interests and ethical people at work, or harm will happen- it already has. Protecting our environment, working on getting us off fossil fuels, proper urban planning, investing in more forms of mass transit, ending all avoidable forms of poverty (material security for all), determining proper business regulations, debating all forms of civic reform, protecting and reinvesting in public education, providing better higher educational opportunities, managing our open spaces properly, racial matters, protecting smaller enterprise and preventing big business domination of all industry, and the list goes on. For-profit interests will never do that, so there's always going to be a place for ethical people who really do care about making a better world for the next generation to step up and get work done. The problem is in this country they all seem to be bought and paid for by the deep pockets (they are) but it doesn't HAVE to be that way. We COULD have an alternative, I just don't know the best way to get there. Anyhow you posted a lot which I appreciate but haven't had a chance to really go over it in depth so I'm going to do that now.

WE NEED IMMEDIATE LAWS INDEMNIFYING ALL APARTMENT OWNERS, LANDLORDS AND MOTEL PROPRIETORS FROM ANY LEGAL LIABILITY REGARDING SO-CALLED ILLEGAL ACTIVITY ON THEIR PROPERTY.
Or at a minimum, full prior knowledge MUST be able to be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt before liability can be enforced. Even so the censure must be reasonable. Unless the property was being used to cause harm to minors AND the ownership was well aware of this, no seizure should ever be allowed.
I live in an apartment currently. Unless I draw attention to myself from local cops, it is not fair in any way to hold my landlord responsible for what occurs inside my apartment. I have an expectation of privacy on this property and within my unit. If I'm doing something wrong, and it comes to the attention of the manager, then that's one thing. But no, without any prior knowledge, you CANNOT hold property owners or managers responsible for what the permanent or temporary users do while on that property, and it's the HEIGHT of evil and viciousness and psychopathy to try to reach into the past and say that someone deserves to pay a price today for something that may or may not have happened years ago, when that issue has already been long concluded. If it is no longer occurring, and there is no recent or long-standing pattern, than then it is over and it cannot be dredged up again as a thin pretext for grand theft.
Even in exterior public spaces, unless there was one or more aspects that were physically unsafe, its not the proprietors fault if someone chooses to do something wrong or so-called illegal. Owners cannot be expected to monitor and control the behavior every single human being that passes through occupies a square foot on their property. This is unrealistic and it's something we shouldn't want. If it comes to their attention that something wrong is happening than they should take appropriate action, but prior to that, they cannot be expected to know in real-time everything that is happening. This would require 1984 levels of surveillance and is something nobody should want.
I can only imagine the inner corruption and psychopathy of the typical federal judge on these trumped-up immoral cases. The defendants in these cases never have a chance.

I've never agreed with eminent domain.
Let's talk about what it really means. It's merely the State or the feds saying "we have more thugs than you to do what we say, so fuck you. We can take what you have and you can't do a goddamn thing about it."
End of story.
I've never supported eminent domain, because first of all, a claim of public value is entirely subjective and cannot be proven in any kind of objective way by any outside observer, and even if it could that STILL doesn't justify the forceful taking of one's home or business by an outside authority regardless of whether fair compensation was provided or not. (The State's definition of 'fair' and the owner's definition are probably quite far apart from one another.) An unwilling taking is a theft plain and simple; it's Might makes Right, nothing less, the underlying foundation of all so-called government actions ("do what we say, or else!")
I do not believe eminent domain has ever been needed, let alone justified. Since government is just the assembly of force directed towards a particular goal for a particular interest, and these interests are usually based in corrupt cronyism, I do not believe an ethical argument could be made for any incident of eminent domain over the past 200 years.
I find ED to be just dressed up bullying. It's the schoolyard bully taking the weaker kids' lunch money, nothing else. Let's not be fooled; those making public policy are usually nothing more than a bunch of corrupt pieces of dogcrap who don't want to play fair, ergo they try to dress up their wrongful behavior with fancy words and special procedures in order to make what they are doing appear more palatable or morally justifiable.

Eminent domain is the State using its excess of force against an individual or a group for any reason. I can't possibly support that; I don't care how supposedly publicly valuable the planned project is, as I've already stated, perceived value is purely subjective and nowhere provable. I'm literally a communist but that doesn't mean I believe we should all be slaves to government bureaucrats and pseudo-dictators.
If any citizen does not wish to sell then that should be their right, end of story, no more discussion, PERIOD. The individual should have some rights in this country and right now, we don't IMO. (I can't believe how property taxes are used to literally violently take homes from hard-working families who worked all their life for them and I truly hope this is not done elsewhere. I find this to be a monstrously evil practice that is somehow so normalized to the point I feel as if I'm living in bizarro world when I encounter it.) The greed-obsessed filth who gain power here are literally doing everything in their power to take EVERYTHING we have by any means necessary. (It's always easier committing grand larceny to another then putting in the hard work of earning it oneself.)
If we're not getting reamed by Wall Street, it's the local county, state or the feds coming around. I don't know if we can change any of this in my lifetime but I would sure like to try. I find the current status of what government superfilth gets away with at the moment quite intolerable. I literally see U-Haul rentals everywhere. It's not unattractive, it's just a business.
Anything we can do to protect and support small businesses, we should do. We have way too many big businesses in this country, it's hard enough for small and independents. They deserve all the support they can get.

I see the need for some strong laws in place that prevent City council's from going after small and medium-sized businesses unless those businesses have been found to engage in actual human trafficking or violent practices or extreme employee mistreatment.

Now maybe if they were planning to offer a generous buyout to this business owner, that's one thing, but nonetheless if they rejected it than the matter should be closed.

Let it be known that when Pete Buttigieg was Mayor of South Bend, Indiana, he proudly spearheaded a program to do exactly this to 1000 families, mostly minority families, whose ONLY crime was being poor and not being able to afford to fix up their home out of their own pocket in accordance with latest city guidelines. No financial help was offered. Instead the homes were just torn down and I don't know if any compensation was given. Thousands homemade homeless through this process.
What they need to do is band together now for a massive class action suit against the City of South Bend but I doubt that's happened yet. These lives were thrown into the wood chipper, and it wouldn't be shocked if absolutely zero compensation was given at anytime. These people are owed major. They essentially have their homes stolen right out under their feet for no crime other than being poor and a POC in one of the whitest shitholes in the nation.
Last I saw there were huge gaps of completely empty street blocks and grass lots where full neighborhoods once stood. Make no mistake, this was completely racially motivated. Now that hyper-priveleged human ratfilth Pete is happily doing nothing as Transportation Secretary.
People who are poor, at risk of being poor, lower income, working class, or black or brown have very little future in this country run by hostile Satans. They come for us/them by any means possible. When will their evil stop?? I think that's a question we're all desperate for an answer to.

Think about it. If you're high up in the governmental hierarchy; if you have access to creating national policies; and if you're an immoral hate-motivated person like most of them, what kind of system would YOU create???
Of course it needs to change, it's deeply evil and just hateful. I mean nobody who has a conscience would have designed a system this way; I know I wouldn't.
There were people who came before us who had a hateful soul and a dark heart and really hated people of color and thought "what can we do to make sure these people never have a fair shot in life?" And they acted accordingly. It was kicked off by Nixon with the controlled substances act of 1971 and it's been going gangbusters ever since. However the chain gang era, especially in the South, operated for decades and was a way to use superficial, essentially fake, offenses to lock people up and then use them for their slave/free labor. For the immoral, unethical or conscience-free person the opportunities to abuse, exploit or enslave people in this country has gone on for 400 years.
I don't think there's anything about our modern judicial system, even regarding misdemeanors or local issues, that is fair or just. Even minor court/legal issues can cause a lot of harm if you're poor or homeless; I know, I've lived through them.
Even the least sympathetic person would be outraged at a the details in much of our system.
Bottom line, once you come out of jail, the moment that door swings shut behind you your sentence is OVER! And so should anything else associated with it.
ANYTHING ELSE SHOULD BE SEEN AS UNACCEPTABLE, NON-MORAL AND UNCONSTITUTIONAL.
Deliberately preventing one from accessing self-betterment and opportunity is evil in all facets. (But that's hat's a description that would be apt regarding most who populate our govt ranks and elite business echelon.)
I could agree with a short-term parole supervision of six months at the absolute most, and only in the more serious cases of longer-term incarceration, in order to help somebody more smoothly reintegrate and readjust to normal life. Also, if it was a sex crime conviction that person may have special conditions of release that they will have to satisfy before they will be judged safe to be fully on their own, but these are unique circumstances.
Once the these short-term transitional periods are up and for ANYONE else, they should have ALL of their human and civil rights restored immediately, including automatic expungement of past convictions (the information will be accessible for the highest authorities to view if necessary but not for anybody else), this includes all rights to pursue job advancement and professional licensing.
Anything short of this is the personification of injustice, which is pretty much the tag line for our entire system from youth courts to ours.
It's because it's not about helping people, it's about being the boot that stomps them down and keeps them down and it's really sad it's this way. We're going to have a fight on our hands trying to change this. The goal of the system isn't rehabilitating people and then reintegrating them back into society it's about oppression, chains, and pseudo-slavery. I should know, I've had friends and acquaintances who've been caught up in it's tow and I've had some lesser dealings with it myself.
There's a reason they call it Jim Crow 2.0, and it can affect white people just as easily, although statistically more POC are targeted by a wide margin. Either way it's gross; it's all about job security for jailworkers and keeping people away from opportunity for as long as possible, this maximizing the chance that they'll fall back into the system thus keeping the revolving door of maximum incarceration going.
Very ugly but how else would you design a maximum incarceration system??? Our system is working very well as it was designed to operate. It's amoral, but of course it is. I believe we can fix this In our lifetime but it's going to take a hell of a lot of work and isolated cases here or there aren't going to change the policies. It's hard to get anyone of conscience elected in this country and much less enough to change these organized cartel-like systems of pseudo-slavery.

I don't believe there's ever a good and moral cause for eminent domain.
"Government" here imo is just the biggest and baddest most aggressive bad-boy gang on the block; one who feels entitled to take what's yours whenever they want, at anytime, with or without adequate compensation, without giving you the right to say no. I can't possibly support that.
Their claim of this being done for the public good is purely their opinion and subjective; oftentimes false on its face and almost always due to something corrupt, ie they want to take YOUR land or assets to make one of THEIR rich crony crook buddies even richer. So you know - just theft. Par for the course for these types.
Apparently "goberment" in this country is something of, by, and for the sociopaths and assholes, where thuggery, tyranny, use of indiscriminate force, and gangsterism is the norm.

I've never understood people that equate legality with morality. They have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other. Ideally they should, but in this country they definitely do not.

Besides, it doesn't matter if it's "legal"- we didn't get the opportunity to vote on these laws. Nobody in their right mind would ever vote Yes to approve open armed theft or most of what else the feds engage in.
People that go into underground organizations are wasting their time, the real hard game is government. They claim to have a right to do what they do, right? Because Congress says they do? Oh come on of course Congress says yes, Congress doesn't represent us, it's a criminal cartel representing Big Banks, billionaires and the Police State, which includes the feds. Just because Congress is going to do what they're told by the big money interests who own them, certainly doesn't make it morally right to Grant's power to commit open and brazen crime to federal agents or anyone else in a law enforcement capacity. It's easy to get Congress to pass a law that grants things that are inherently morally wrong a patina of acceptability, all you have to do is be connected to the interests who pull their strings.
Those criminals AKA those agents were looking for an easy score and they found it by picking on a small business. I bet they've done this tens or hundreds of times before and it probably usually works out well for them because the little guy gets scared when they see agents even though they really shouldn't. The vast majority of time the agents are outright lying or exaggerating in order to try to get them to roll over and take whatever kinds of racket the agents are trying to perpetrate without a fight. To the uninitiated it can sound scary and intimidating when you get these gangster thugz coming in, flashing their badges and making it sound like you've done something wrong when you know you absolutely haven't. Everybody should stand their ground when they're attacked by feds because 99.999% of the time these filthy subhuman feds know that they're perpetrating an immoral act that most juries would absolutely condemn, "legal" or not. In short, they know that most of what they have on anyone if not all wouldn't stand up five minutes in court, that's why they try to intimidate business owners or individuals into giving in before they can realize that they're being played.
Even if you were running a so-called illicit business that's STILL not the government's right just to come and take what they want and / or destroy it. Considering they're operating from a massive conflict of interest which is the desire to profit from the seizure of such business, they should not be allowed to carry out such attacks. Unless the business was based on human trafficking, environmental destruction, animal abuse, or child abuse then any government should have NO say in its conduct or activities whatsoever.
The only reason Congress chooses to keep most things illegal, esp drugs, is so they can literally steal endless amounts of money and labor fruits from the American public. There's no difference between the mafia and other organized crime cartels and the federal apparatus. None at all.

I mean we can live under a class of absolute dictators like in the medieval ages with the lords and the various elites and members of the court and the king and so forth but I thought we decided we were done with that. We can have a class of persons totally impune from any consequences to their actions but why would we want that? Of course the supreme court would create this, I don't even believe we should have a supreme court for the most part, but anyone who enters any so-called government role just wants absolute power. If you're anything besides a basic administrative bureaucrat, you want impunity, and so they get to write their own rules and surprise surprise they got their friends on the court to say "oh yeah well basically there's like this thing that like like like like like says we get to do whatever we want and like that's just how it is". I mean- we don't have to accept this. We don't have to accept anything the Supreme Court says as legitimate. We don't have to accept anyone's judgment in place of our own. Now of course somebody can always come and put a gun to our head and force us to comply, that'll never change, but we don't have to morally agree with anything that we find wrong for any reason and we can come together to resist it and fight it at anytime. No human being should have more rights than another. That's my position. There are always going to be rare exceptions in edge cases but by and large and almost all situations that is my position. Nobody should be supporting increasing government power and control or increasing immunity or impunity of government thugs, especially Pigs, to constantly infiltrate and aggress into our lives and continually whittle away at more and more of our individual rights and choices. So long as we are not using our rights to cause intentional and deliberate harm to an innocent person or animal we have the right to do just about anything we goddamn well please. That's what freedom of choice IS. People say they want to live in a free country usually just means they want freedom for people who look like themselves but they want subjugation and slavery for anybody who disagrees with them in any way or who looks different from them. Because of abusive fines and fees and constantly having to get new tickets, I haven't been able to renew my drivers license in many years. It all started in 2008 over two very minor unpaid traffic tickets. I didn't realize those were going to balloon to $3000 from $100+ within two years. I would have easily been able to pay them off in 2009 if they had stayed at the original amount.
As I of course couldn't pay the outrageous sum they were demanding, and there were times when I couldn't even afford monthly payments even if I wanted to, naturally over time I accrued more tickets and more tickets for driving on suspended and vehicle tows for driving on suspended, and I even had to do 5 weeks in local county jail for two counts of driving on suspended because I couldn't pay my $500 and then $250 bail (I had it lowered finally and was able to get my mom to pay it, I had nothing at the time).
Bail is fucking satanic. They literally kidnap you for weeks or months on end and if you don't have anyone to help you your entire life can go to hell in the meantime, all because you can't afford a few hundred or a few thousand dollars of EXTORTION.
EVERYTHING CITIES DO IS EXTORTION TO THE MOST OBSCENE DEGREE AND THE POOR ARE ALWAYS THE ONES WHO SUFFER THE MOST.
So because I can't afford outrageous extortion via constantly cascading fees, fines and tickets, I'm a criminal for driving my car!?!?!?! Even if I wanted to pay those outrageous funds I would need to be able to go to work to do it which meant I needed my car!!!! IS THIS NOT MADNESS!?!?! THIS WASN'T NEW YORK CITY WHERE THIS HAPPENED, I WAS LIVING IN SUBURBAN AND SEMI-RURAL AREAS WHERE BUS SERVICE WAS LIMITED TO NONEXISTENT. SO BECAUSE I WAS HOMELESS, AND I HAD NOBODY ELSE TO HELP ME WITH TRANSPORTATION, WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO? SITTING AROUND ALL DAY AT THE HOMELESS SHELTER WAS NOT AN OPTION. Even if I had a normal place to live the bus service was very limited in this area. As I knew I'd done nothing wrong and the fines themselves were criminal there was no way in hell I was going to deprive myself of my human right to drive MY vehicle that I owned!!!!! I mean the expectation is beyond revolting and outrageous, that I should punish myself for doing nothing wrong. For not participating in criminal extortion! Even if I wanted to I couldn't afford it. I didn't have any income at the time, and whatever I had I needed to survive on. I sure as hell wasn't going to use it to help satisfy a worthless city gang their criminal greed.
I tried to explain all this to the judge, about my situation, the wrongness of the fines and my inability to pay, and it was like talking to a wall. Truly these people are demons. Words cannot describe the subhuman filth that they are. They are truly evil to every last pore of their body. I don't know if they're staggeringly stupid and they don't understand what they're doing, or they do and just don't care. You can't tell someone to pay you outrageous fines for doing nothing wrong and then tell them they don't have the right to drive their vehicle until they do! People have jobs and lives to lead! This is breathless extortion on a level that would make the mafia proud.
Truly we live in hell.
Cities and police departments are monsters and I hope they all burn in hell. I would love to go to sleep with the sounds of their screams in my ear.

I find the fact that the public has next to no say on public policy in this country unacceptable.
I'm not saying there should be no cops or courts, again, if they were wrong with a shred of civilized agenda I would feel a lot better about it; but imo they aren't. All we ask for is responsible courts, no gestapo on the road, an end to the divine right of judges, and public oversight on all matters.
Everything is illegal, with vicious, evil, cruel and draconian punishments so as to justify and provide continued mass incarceration.
No one should want this. Other than those guilty of truly heinous crimes, this system protects no one.
When it comes to federal agencies don't support the TSA, I don't support Customs, I sure as hell don't support the DEA. The only materials that beat that should be prevented from entering the country are possibly dangerous or invasive plant or animal species. That is all.

That connotes much more legitimacy, morality, ethics and public responsibility in my mind then the term we've all come to fall back on "government"... something about that word seems to connote superiority and divine legitimacy in some people's minds and this really bothers me)
Local government in Carlsbad CA ruined my father in the 90s after fifteen years of loyal service as a civil engineer. He should have sued but didn't for whatever reason and I was too young at the time to help him. And now I'm sure it's too late, it's been over 20 years.
I don't know why anybody respects or trust ANY government persons ANYWHERE, they are just PEOPLE and when it comes to people you are going to get all kinds, from the best to the worst, and this is nowhere more true than in government, (although it's quite clear in that group which part of the human spectrum will predominate). They are certainly NOT special or superior in anyway, ha ha quite the opposite; they are usually not there by merit, but nepotism or bribery or patronage, all illegitimate and unethical means of advancement.
So WHEN will people wake up and get off their knees and stop being slaves!??? That's all I want to ask. Here's hoping more in time will.
The govt class in this nation is ruthless, they are amoral, they deserve NO QUARTER when it's time to fight. They are just other people and they usually have no soul and no conscience. It's a shame we can't handle things wild west-style with these people, but at least we can try to ruin them in the courts.

Not the first time I've heard of this, I think this is disturbingly common. I read of similar case not that long ago with a local PD and a nice middle-class home that was absolutely trashed by them and SWAT assaulting it as if it was an underground bunker and for what egregious life-threatening reason you may adk??? Were they trying to save hostages from a crazed madman with his finger on the trigger of a timed bomb? No ofc not.
It was all to find ONE suspected shoplifter who refused to come out, that was all.

The repairs alone would have come to at least $100,000 in this family's case.

@zippythechicken I understand about genuine violent acts, that is what a justice system is supposed to intervene on. However our system goes far beyond that I think in ways that can be clearly seen once one starts to look.
Look I don't think that everyone can be redeemed but I do think most can.
There should be certain protections against those with violent convictions, however once someone has served their time and is deemed rehabilitated they should still be able to seek appropriate employment and housing provided it doesn't take them into contact with vulnerable groups. So for instance, perhaps someone convicted of a serious sex crime won't be allowed to work in schools or around children, but there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to get a job working at an industrial plant, or in a store where they'll be in plain sight of other adults at all times.
There should be certain types of housing set aside for those with past sex-crime convictions. Some people really can be rehabilitated and change. Everybody needs a place to live.
Also not every sex crime conviction is for a violent act. A lot of people are victimized by the sex offender classification every year who did nothing more than take a picture of a classmate in a bikini or forward a picture of a girl who happen to be underage who was scantily-clad. it doesn't mean they were looking at child po8n, this could have been a 15yo girl. Teens go to the beach and go to school in many places with relatively small amounts of clothing. I'm not trying to justify genuine sexual predators I'm talking about what all teens which is go which is go to parties, have fun take pictures of each other and so on. An 18yo having consensual sex with his 16yo gf is NOT a rapist, yet the law says he is. That is outrageous. I briefly dated a 26yo when I was sixteen 25 years ago. Man today I guess they'd arrest him as a rapist (we weren't even sexual active). Our laws are screwy and sick. They are written to totally victimize people of color and poor people in every way. They are just a tool to hurt and harm people that is all.
I've heard that people who get cited for public urination now can get called sex offenders. This is absolute madness and sadism.
The sex offender label is being applied to everyone and everything now creating a permanent underclass of perceived predators were none such exists.

They hate human beings and they really want to destroy them and so if you do any little thing wrong they will use that as an opening to try to charge you as if you were some kind of genuine evil predatory sociopathic person. I've seen it happen time and time again and I have talked to quite a few people who have lived through it. All of these people were poor or POC.
Cops are so evil you cannot begin to imagine the moral bankruptcy in these demons. They take pleasure from harming people either through violence or through the system. Had a friend who got a six-year sentence because he had an argument with his girlfriend. Voices were raised, a neighbor called the police and from there just got out of hand. I'm fuzzy on the details now because this is going back a ways but I think they charged him with some form of sexual or physical assault and pressured the woman to claim it happened. Apparently she did try to speak up and say nothing like that occurred but that didn't stop the cops. You see my friend is very dark-skinned and very black. Of course his public defender was worthless and did nothing for him so he got a six-year sentence, ended up having to do three years in one of the California prisons, got out and still had to be three years on parole which is pseudoslavery. For nothing.
Cops are from Satan in this country, once you see them that way everything else makes sense. They hate Black people with a blinding passion that a normal person could never understand. They want them all to to die. Short of that they want them all to be locked up. This friends name is Chris, he is a very sweet young man, he never means any harm to anyone. He's doing fine today but that was six years out of his life for absolutely no reason at all.
99% of our current lockup system is evil, damn near satanically so. It's designed to attempt to destroy people and to destroy the black community with industrial efficiency and that's exactly what it does.
Of course genuine evildoers need to be intercepted and handled, but our system goes far far far beyond that and it does so intentionally.

Unless what somebody did was truly extreme like serial murder, child murder, serial violent sexual assault, serious DV, violent pedophilia, or something else very extreme, a drive by of a home for instance, I'm willing to bet it wasn't all that violent.
The human race has always been a pretty violent race. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be consequences but it's interesting that a lot of people are being locked up for relatively minor so-called violent offenses today when for most of our history nothing like that would have been batted an eyelash at.
Such as simple fistfights btwn two adult males, revenge killings (the devil is always in the details but let's presume the motive of the would-be avenger is justified), snapping and killing one's longtime abuser, etc.
These acts are all extremely understandable if not justified given the circumstances. But the courts want to take an ignorant sadistic very black-and-white reductive immoral and unethical simple-minded anti- justice view of life. Any act of violence is considered a crime no matter what preceded it no matter what any other details regarding the situation may be. Context and background and mitigating circumstances and all of the other 98% of relevant information means nothing in our fifth-world courts.
But if the courts don't ultracriminalize everything how will they keep a full docket and ever-increasing incarceration?

@zippythechicken It really depends what they were convicted of. Most convictions are non-violent or minor. Even some DV or sex-offense convictions are unjust and not deserved. I'm not saying nobody out there is a bad guy, there are certainly those, I've just known people who have been totally victimized and railroaded and screwed over by the system because the system is an assembly line. It is an industrial process meant to suck as many people in as possible and keep them down for as long as possible, there's no justice about it. A lot of people have unjust convictions or charges that look a lot worse on paper then they really are. Two people could get into a fight and it could be charged as a felony assault making one or both of them look like crazy people when really they were just two people that got a little hot under the collar where nobody got seriously hurt and it would have been fine had the Blue gestapo not gotten involved, but the Pigs are psychopaths; they receive credit for how many people they arrest, they don't care whose lives they destroy or people they hurt, that's why they're evil. They will do this until their dying day, it's a psychopath's/narcopath's dream. They always defend it like the evil robots they are by simply saying "we are just upholding the law"- yes that's what's wrong with you absolute demon- that's what's wrong with the whole system, fool. These laws are what are evil and are designed to ruin lives for sport.

There's NO WAY a hotel or motel proprietor can control what happens in every single guest room, that's an outrageous expectation. Provided a given guest doesn't cause a commotion or draw attention to themselves, what they do behind the closed door of their own room is known only to them.
There might be drugs, there might be prostitution and you know what, that's perfectly fine provided it's done between consenting over-aged adults.
Even if it's sex trafficking, which is heinous and which should be rightfully prosecuted, a motel proprietor shouldn't be held responsible because they are not going to have every room under surveillance nor should they be able to. The problem with a guarantee of privacy to all guests is that some guests will misuse it.
You can't hold hotel owners responsible for what to guests do in the privacy and concealment of their own room. That is vile and revolting. Now, once it comes to the attention of the proprietor, they will have a choice how to respond, but even if they choose to allow it, it doesn't mean they deserve to lose their entire business, I don't see how those two connect. If local authorities want to charge business owners with aiding and abetting, that's one thing, provided they can prove foreknowledge took place; but that in no way gives them anymore right to take their private property or any of their income.
No public agent should have a financial stake in someone's private property. I mean the conflict-of-interest is beyond outrageous!
This isn't about stopping or slowing down so-called crime, this is about Mass Grand theft!!! The proceeds of the sale were going to go directly into the DEA agents' pockets.

They only have the rights to public property- although I would say they're only entitled to the management of public property as we all maintain our local public grounds with our various tax contributions. The scam regarding property taxes has been going on a long time but that doesn't make it right. A criminal grift is still a criminal grift no matter how many generations it's been going on. I don't mind property taxes provided they are kept modest, progressive but limited, and fair; and in ___NO___ way used as an excuse to come after one's actual HOME! That is the massively ugly criminal heart of the property tax scam. I'm happy to help support my local community and our school system but if I cannot pay I in no way deserve to lose my entire home because of that! That's just evil! Some counties are so far beyond the pale; so happily and joyfully conscience-absent they literally steal your entire home's value from the sale. Not all but quite a few have and it's called stealing your home's equity. Essentially they rob you blind and leave you with nothing other than the clothes on your back, whatever you have in the bank, and whatever you've been able to salvage from the home. Of course it's an outrageous crime but it depends on how dirty the local courts are if they will help you get redress or not.
In no way does any government entity have the right to come after a person's primary home that is legally in your name for ANY reason (with perhaps one caveat, that being an extreme crime was committed on the premises and the property is being sold to compensate the victims).
Any violation of this is non-negotiable in my book and completely morally unacceptable.
I'm tired of government behaving like filthy absolute rulers that feel they have the right to do ANYTHING they want at anytime and take anything they want from anyone with or without due process. They are gangsters and I'm sick of it.
Long ago, trash people without ethical compunction discovered many ways to get away with flat-out stealing what is rightfully ours, and they called it "law" so no one would question it. I made a minor edit to my comment where I was criticizing the property tax system and the way it's used to justify outright naked home and/or land theft- and it is home (land) theft, I don't care what anyone says- and the afterwards it wouldn't post again.
But it's a MASSIVE crime and a serious problem, and because they control the local organized force, they believe can get away with it, and they usually do. it is deeply morally and ethically wrong and I will do anything I can in my lifetime to stop it. NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE YOUR HOME FOR ANY REASON I DON'T CARE HOW THEY TRY TO JUSTIFY IT IS A CRIMINAL ACT! Nobody should be taxed on their property if it means they get to be turned out of house and home like they were only squatting... in some cases with these vile local government degenerates outright keeping the remainder of the equity- a compounding act of astounding criminality. I mean these people love what is evil and if you're an average nobody they feel that you can't fight back. I was just watching a video about this- not only are home seizures due to property taxes non-payment a moral outrage, but some of these municipalities literally have the gall to take it ALL.

I don't agree with eminent domain under the vast majority of conditions. There might be one very extreme very unique, very rare case that I might agree with, but I haven't heard it yet.
This is all just take what they want by force by corporation. They don't even have the decency to give proper compensation. They're all just ruthless thieves and common criminals. Occasionally the government will try this for their own reasons, although every time I've seen them try to pull eminent domain they're always acting on behalf of the large corporation- the only group they ever truly serve.
You shouldn't be anywhere on the political Right in this country because if you are you missing the forest for the trees. Government at ALL levels of this country is a sadistic joke on the rest of us. That's what malignant narcopaths feel every waking moment- an absolute malignant outsized entitlement and sense of superiority and grandiosity, and they will never ever feel a moment's remorse to their actions. That's not how sociopaths and narcopaths roll. Remember, they're predators. Predators seek prey. We really do need an absolute overthrow of these animals and some better people of conscience put in, but I despair that I will ever see that happen in my lifetime.
I'm grateful there's at least one organization out there, IFJ, although I'm sure there are others, that are fighting back against the practices these people who are ruthless and will stop at nothing to achieve their goals and have zero respect for other human beings' rights in this country.

Should one group get to totally dominate, destroy, steal from, abuse and invoke all manner of aggression on others whenever they choose? Should everything be illegal and every moment we spend outside of our homes controlled and surveilled?? I would think that the rational answer would be no but ask that of a thousand people and I expect to be in the minority.
We'll never find freedom in a country that was so ostensibly founded on freedom (altho mainly the freedom to own people, steal Indian lands, deny equal rights to 50% of the population, and so on), yeah today rarely knows anything of the sort.

You think you've seen evil, then you realize you haven't seen anything. The bloodless evil those in public roles commit dwarfs any I've seen on the street or from random private groups. They may not commit physical violence, but they destroy people's lives either in the short-term or the long-term with their larceny and their arbitrary detention and ransom business. I've never known such calm bloodless committed shameless psychopathy.
Fines and fees for ANY reason should not exist. Governments in this country CANNOT be trusted not to abuse them. They quickly become a prelude to mass grand theft because local authorities are so proudly satanically amoral.
I can't get over how government functions in this country. I can't deal with it. I just can't believe how amoral it really is. It's based on sheer destruction, it's based on a hatred of life. They look for the weak and they just keep going. The arrest and bail racket destroys lives on an industrial scale; it causes incredible family destabilization. I don't even have the words anymore. This is all Satan's business.
Everything local govts do is for evil. It's all to take what is ours through intimidation and violence.
Now I can see how foolish I was to EVER trust government when I was younger. It's made up of nothing but predators, demons in human form; conscienceless destroyers. When will more people wake up to what' going on out here?? Responsible safety response is one thing, but what these things do is something else entirely. It's rarely if ever "responsible" and it's rarely if ever simply "response";, it's lying in wait, it's aggression, it's following, it's stalking, it's grand mass theft, it's escalation, it's gross intimidation, it's gross entitlement, and it's all criminal behavior under another name.
It's a gang, just another gang, like any other, just under a different name.
Crime investigators and 911 responders are one thing, if they can do so responsibly, but many can't or won't. That's largely due to the fact that anyone can become a cop in these United States. Our training is shockingly abysmal. Most countries insist on at least two years of training sometimes up to four, and you literally have to write a thesis to be allowed to graduate or advance, hear any savage barbarian who can breathe and can make it thru through four to six months of bullshit training gets a badge. We are being policed and patrolled by the worst among us and that is not an exaggeration.
Then once they come out they're assigned to the Blue street gang, the ones that intentionally aggress into our communities and occupy every square foot they can in order to steal, extort and hopefully arrest as many people and as much property and money as they can.
All patrols, lying in wait, and street occupation must cease immediately. They won't of course because it's far too profitable (like any good criminal operation) and the industry of mass incarceration CANNOT survive without the slave patrols, I mean Street Pigs, I mean Street Hunters. And mass incarceration is insanely profitable. That, plus a good deal of racism, is the only reason why it hasn't stopped yet.
It's pretty pathetic we've all been gaslit all our lives to accept this incredible subjugation, tyranny, and abrogation of our simple rights to travel outside of our homes without being mobbed or hunted like animals. We're not even safe in our homes from these monsters and their violent home invasions. Sickening. But this is why they're all psychopaths and cluster B psychotics. Psychotics want to do this kind of thing- killing, hurting, stealing from, or pushing around others is what they live for. And they sure as hell don't intend to work a single honest day in their lives. Standing around, initiating violence, ruining others' lives for kicks and stealing from others is what every good criminal wants and that's what every city street cop wants.
Any crime that isn't a property infringement or based on violence to another isn't a crime at all, so all drug enforcement or gang intervention needs to end immediately unless its in response to alleged killings, however whatever so-called gang members wish to do to each other I don't believe should be a matter of outside business, government or not. This is an organization they chose to join knowing how business was conducted, as far as I'm concerned it's an internal matter of no outside business to anyone. If someone is killed as a result that is sad but these individuals knew exactly the risks and the nature of this organization when they joined it, same as any other unofficial or underground group. Therefore really they are not victims. However if individuals from these groups harm anyone outside of their organization than they should have to pay for it according to outside law. Unaffiliated persons never chose to be in the group therefore any harm done to them is a crime. But no, internal matters of any group, unless they involve harm to children or animals, or organized property violence to an outside person or organization, is of NO business to any outsider, government or not. I believe in autonomy and the rights to form our OWN groups away from the control and exploitation of Big Brother.
We truly live under Big Brother here it's just a lot of people don't see it because it's not as obvious as the more traditional forms. It's no business of any class of people what two or more consenting adults do provided that doesn't include intended harm to other human beings or animals. Yet the feds, state troopers and local Pigs are everywhere. It may not always look like it, but we live under a massive police state and and it's just not what I want. If others want to live under a police-state if it makes them feel more secure, great let them be controlled, occupied, felt up, stolen from and just utterly tyrannized at every opportunity. I don't WANT that and I wouldn't think you would either.
I don't like a big government when it comes to individual rights. I have the strange desire to maintain my autonomy in life. I don't like government period mostly. Another word for government is control. There's a lot of slaves out here that want to be controlled apparently. The under the mistaken infantile impression that people who ascend to public positions are somehow qualified to do so or have some sort of superior moral judgment, which in this country is a hysterical joke. Absolutely nothing further could be the truth.
Govt is important for some things on the management and organizational level but when it comes to the abrogation of individual and group rights that's where I draw a big fat line. Government should be for the management of public resources, maintaining a fully voluntary defense force, and ensuring limited and ethical courts with full public oversight, nothing more. Anything else is tyranny in my judgment.

Any kind of cop is a natural bully and a thug otherwise they wouldn't be in the job. Now I'm not saying that you can't have ethical police for ethical reasons but anytime you hear something like this that's when somebody has a tiny dick and is trying to compensate by feeling like they have power over you. Here's the problem- anytime you give anybody a tiny bit of power somebody is going to abuse it- the problem is here is that none of these Pigs are ever censured, disciplined prosecuted, giving a jail sentence or a steep fine, or removed when that happens. From the SCOTUS all the way down to your local mayor we are run and administered by gangster filth who see no problem with a lawless gestapo force on our streets and in our backcountry.
I'm glad there was a positive outcome in this case but in so many times there isn't because all cops are literally lawless. They're allowed to investigate themselves which if it wasn't our reality we would laugh ourselves crazy because we would find that unbelievable; I don't understand how that hasn't been crushed by any Supreme Court over the last 100 years. We are living in a madhouse where dental hygienists have to go for more training before they're allowed to get certified and have to answer to MORE oversight then somebody who can use lethal force or ruin your life either in the short-term or the long-term at any moment. THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT!!!

It's a lovely mural and there's nothing wrong with it. Also it's his business on his property and nobody should have been able to say anything. It's a stupid rule and needs to go.
This is dumber than hell. And so what if it is a sign???? Don't people have the right to put up SIGNS for their business??????? The code against signs is wrong and once again - in a small but real way this is just showing how those in local "govt" never have morals or decency at heart or concern for their community at heart, but are instead gangsters, criminal, savages, tyrants and wannabe dictators. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with this work, whether it is a sign or mural.
The community made it clear, call it what you will they want this sign/artwork to stay. But that wasn't good enough for these local tyrants.
It is the ridiculous anti-sign code stipulation which needs to go.
Everyone needs to start suing their local city much more often. They are thugs. And if that sounds like rather strong words to describe them, that's just because most people don't have the pleasure of dealing with them more often. These are people who are desperate to be autocratic absolute-power dictators in all matters small and large. These are nothing crooked thugs in suits, taking back room bribes and payoffs to do the will of big-money interests. And although this is a relatively minor matter, it shows how they behave in general. And anyone who's had the misfortune of dealing with these criminals knows just what I'm talking about. They want to rule with an iron fist, usually though not always, in a totally corrupt away, in a way that helps their rich big business friends. The local community can demand and speak till they're blue in the face but these local tyrants have a breathtaking way of being made of Teflon; nothing the community says or does makes an impact and just rolls right off. That's why I say usually only suing works bec it's really only a show of force that thugs understand. This man gave many reasonable responses explain why the ordinance needed to be reformed or simply removed and they didn't want to hear it. It's a non-violent minor matter but its illustrative to show how these types of people are. They are would-be iron fist tyrants that want to use force and tyranny to impose their will on the world around them.
Some ordinances may make sense, but this one is foolish and stupid. No one is being harmed by a cheerful mural on the front of a donut shop. And it certainly should fall until the rights of a business owner to put up an appropriate sign related to his business.
Even though this is a relatively small matter, it still matters. Because simply they are being unfair and unreasonable on this issue, and when the community spoke out they should have realized that they were taking the ordinance too far. Clearly they have no respect for the small business owners in their community or they wouldn't be trying to force the issue, even going so far to demand outrageous usurious fines.
