  1. The vast majority of (public) problems in our lives are not due to federal or state government actions but local ones, I've found. All three levels have a role to play, but I do feel far more often it's the local would-be tyrants or assholes that have the greatest harmful effect on our lives. Few if any of them seem to care about doing right (or at least trying to) and some of them (all?) are clearly simply borderline sociopaths, crooks, or just trash thugs in a suit.

  2. I don't believe there's ever a good and moral cause for eminent domain. "Government" here imo is just the biggest and baddest most aggressive bad-boy gang on the block; one who feels entitled to take what's yours whenever they want, at anytime, with or without adequate compensation, without giving you the right to say no. I can't possibly support that. Their claim of this being done for the public good is purely their opinion and subjective; oftentimes false on its face and almost always due to something corrupt, ie they want to take YOUR land or assets to make one of THEIR rich crony crook buddies even richer. So you know - just theft. Par for the course for these types. Apparently "goberment" in this country is something of, by, and for the sociopaths and assholes, where thuggery, tyranny, use of indiscriminate force, and gangsterism is the norm. I don't even know what moral governance, if such a thing is possible, is supposed to be; all I've known first or secondhand is attempted rule by quasi-gangster thugs who had zero respect for the majority of people that they claimed to represent and didn't give a tinker's damn how their policies and attitudes were harming average people. Anyone that gets in power in this second-world backwater, now knowing that they have the cop-stapo at their command, will almost instantly attempt to use it against anyone they don't like or gets in their way. I guess any tiny bit of influence corrupts. I'm not saying there should be no governance at all, but I do believe what we have in many of our jurisdictions is just absolutely unlimited blazing joyful unlimited tyranny where systemic theft and rights violations are normalized. It's bad enough the ruthless 1% hyperelites of big business dictate everything out of state and federal level, but we still got to get the business from our local tyrant thugs at a local and regional level. It's bullshit. What's the agenda of those in power in this country- is it to help the most people possible? Or is it to gain profit for themselves and their corrupt crony buddies by any means necessary, and choosing to be destructive, hateful or harmful for the fun of it, even when obvious alternatives exist?? I have seen the latter far more than I have ever seen or heard or read about the former. Maybe we should stop electing sociopaths and happy crooks and thugs. If we can't demand ethical, moral servant-leaders in this country, then our future is unsure at best.

  3. The feds may or may not have done anything, but it's cool you were able to stand your ground. Not offering you the full value of your land was definitely a red flag that they didn't have ethical intentions. Just how did you get so much compromising information I'm curious now ... All local government comes down to is a bunch of self-serving assholes if not outright crooks profiting at the public's expense and hooking up their corrupt crony buddies with sweetheart deals. Nothing new under the sun. I guess it will never change.
