HOAs are gangster organizations and it is one of my missions to at least push the needle closer to making them illegal under any circumstance. Few people hate the very concept of HOAs more than me. Here's the thing- it's not so bad to have a non-enforceable non-mandatory group which solicits of voluntary contributions from residents towards the common areas, but the moment they dare step over someone's property line and issue commands or demands that is where they should have absolutely zero legal standing because that is a crime!!!!! WHAT YOU DO ON YOUR PROPERTY OR HOW YOU DECORATE IT IS YOUR BUSINESS!! IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE WITH ANYONE ELSE'S APPROVAL. HOAs ARENT GOVT AND THEY HAVE NO MORAL OR JUSTIFIABLE RIGHT TO TELL YOU WHAT TO DO ON YOUR PROPERTY OR HOW TO MAINTAIN IT. THAT'S FOR THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO SAY. HOAs ARE PRIVATE ORGANIZATIONS ERGO THEY HAVE NO POWER OF ENFORCEMENT, AND NO POWER OF DEMAND. THEY ARE EMPTY WORTHLESS ENTITIES. HOAs ARE ACTING LIKE STATE ACTORS AND THAT IS WHERE PEOPLE NEED TO CHALLENGE THEM UP TO EVERY STATE'S SUPREME COURT!! HOAs ARE CRIMINAL.

Until all municipal fees, fines, and property thefts AKA property seizures of ANY sort for ANY reason are considered unjust and illegal as a way of generating revenue for a city, these gross abuses and these minor and not-so-minor rackets will just continue. If they want money let them get it from the state, request it federally, or assess income or sales taxes. That should be it!!! These fees, fines, and gross property thefts are getting out of control and in my eyes it's ALL CRIME. This goes for DMV fees as well. I understand why the govt would want cars to be registered, but the fees they are attaching to it are outrageous. To add filth to injury, they make the current owners pay for any past owner's fee accruals. Since this is patently unfair and unjust on its face I'm shocked nobody has challenged this yet in court. Every city is a little or not-so-little organized crime operation.
