Imagine the colossal ignorance thinking we know better than nature. Every environmental catastrophe in the US not caused by industry crimes was caused by this attitude.

Do they really threaten farmland tho? So what kinds abatement measures can be done? What about natural levees? Can they be placed around fields? Drain pipes?

@snowysnowyriver I'm glad to see these programs taking root, but I'm sure they could use some expansion. Beavers are needed everywhere. Encouragingly, and finally, beaver programs are starting to be introduced here in the US. I just watched a video of them being used in the desert, which I had never thought of before. Would be great for state govts here to make beaver programs part of an overall environmental renewal plan, none of which to my knowledge we currently have. A federal program would be even better and could be overseen by the BLM, bureau of land management.
