I've been saying for a long time now that rent should be modest and easily affordable by all. After all, everyone needs housing. There should be national rent control, absolutely. I would set it at 15% of your total take-home income whether its benefits or from working, it doesn't matter. 15% is what your landlord gets to ask for, with special and limited exception. Set rent at 15% and virtually no one would be homeless. It's as simple as that.

@dalton6108 they are the inflation dumba55. Inflation is owners and service providers choosing to raise their prices, just because they can. That's inflation. Learn something. Inflation isn't some magic thing that just happens because God said so. I can tell you don't know shit. Inflation is nothing but owners and providers raising prices ergo price goes up.

@joshuagarner1654 well I'm sorry you don't make more but it's going to add up over time. I mean I'm all for people being responsible landlords but that's a choice you made to be one. If you're not making as much as you want look at yourself and see if there's anything you can do different. I already agree that in most cases property taxes are too high. I have a lot of issues with the way taxation and governance is done in this country.

@joshuagarner1654 yeah because federal funding has no limit and also there's obscenely rich billionaires, mega millionaires and corporations that could pay their share but don't want to and they get their way because a politician is easy to buy. Government is nothing but force (policies backed up by violence) for sale, that's all. Wake tf up. How old are you going to get and still be dumb??
