@TerrenceSullivan1335 I'm against most mergers and buyouts. Not all but many.

@max1cp no these standards are good. There have to be limits. Market share should be limited at something reasonable, say 30%, otherwise eventually there will be only one mega business left and F that
15
@Yourpolice1 the point is there needs to be a limit that allows for growth but not infinite growth. We can negotiate where this should be but if I could wave a magic wand it definitely needs to be set somewhere. I think 5 to 1OB is the right range. Or just set it to a percentage of market share and a number of individual locations. 30% maximum say, 200 max locations.

@Yourpolice1 what should it be? 500m is high.

@L98fiero sure 20% is probably better. I definitely agree that real regulations like those and more need to be created and actually enforced. Hard to believe it will ever happen in our lifetime but it's the direction I certainly want to move in. Big biz runs all right now, answers to no real law, does whatever it wants. It's not ok. Sure it's great for them, not everyone else tho. I've got a laundry list of heavy regulations I would make bigger business abide by if I could. And you know what, I know damn well they would still generate plenty of profit because by the time you get to that size there's no way your profit margins aren't fat. They just would be forced to do it within ethical parameters and standards, unlike now.

@stevechance150 YOU GET A MERGER & YOUUU GET A MERGER! Look under your seat- it's a merger! MERGERS FOR EVERYONE! 🤯 Yeah that would suck

@max1cp yt isn't letting me post my reply.

@Yourpolice1 ok 10B then. Why should any entity be bigger than that?

All big business is predatory. Really sad.

I never had that bad a financial history and yet I couldn't seem to qualify for higher credit card balances. As a result I just hardly used credit cards as I've gotten older and I haven't missed them. I'm sure there's times when they could have helped me out through various emergencies and unfortunately I just didn't have them cuz I hadn't spent the time trying to qualify for one previously and never got around to it. Credit cards are fine as long as you stay on top of them and don't fall into their traps, but that's a big if. They're definitely designed to suck you in and bleed you dry. You have to be very very careful with those instruments. Like anything in the financial services industry, clearly stricter regulation would benefit consumers.

They do. But swipe fees are bogus.

I know that's right 👍

@max1cp I think all monopoly and monopsony is bad. I've always believed big business should be extremely limited so that other companies have a chance to compete and succeed. That's what a real free market is all about - but these scum want it all. That's not ok. No industry should be captured by one or a few big players. That's just what I want. Why should all these giants be allowed to grow without limits???? Where are the limits on the fn private sector???? Where are the rules?? It's so bogus to let these cunts do whatever they want. Only the top shareholders and C-suite really benefit. Sometimes they provide good jobs and often they won't even do that. Big biz is the root of most of the economic issue and poverty in the US. It's all about endless greed for the sociopaths at the top. Screw those guys. I'm not against a bigger business per se provided there's a fair upper limit to their size and there are better rules aka regulations on their conduct (which there essentially are none right now, not in practice). This type capital anarchy fucks everyone in my view.
