I would change that last one to very rich, but yes. Those who run for office in this country, and probably most others, for the most part have always been for sale to the highest bidder. If you aren't the highest bidder, it's a pretty good chance your interests aren't represented at any level of government here. (As always minor exceptions, but overall.)

@john-paulhunt-r8d well I mean up until recently a lot of places supplied their own delivery; sometimes for an extra fee, sometimes without. The app delivery services are relatively new. Also are you sure you're pro-worker? Just kind of funny the way you refer to workers as if they were slaves needing to be kept in line but I'm probably reading too much into it.

I've had to order food delivery quite a bit the last couple of months because of a temporary situation. I only go through door dash (not that they're so great but I feel they're better than Uber eats), and I'm careful to order off the company's website, not Door Dash's (sometimes door dash will inflate menu prices). When you take into account a small tip and the fee, you're probably going to spend about at least $10 extra to get it delivered. It's a hefty cost that adds up and it's definitely wrong that most of it doesn't even go to the driver. I would urge folks to avoid prepared food delivery if you at all can. If you can't, then it's a useful service, but I don't see why delivery companies can't bring their costs down somewhat.

Corporate greed from these business sociopaths knows no bounds. The app services are not even the worst by far. Without the threat of an iron fist pointed at these jerks we're all going to get screwed by them, and we have been for generations. When's it gonna change?? There's profit, and then there's just greed.
