  1. The thing is, the vast majority of able-bodied people already do work or want to work. They don't need to be coerced. On Medicaid or not, it's a stupid myth that people would rather be passive and lazy then productive. That's virtually never true. The problem is AL refused to implement proper exemptions. Illness, conditions, homelessness and caregiving should all be permanent exemptions. Sounds like AL intentionally refused to qualify them as necessary exemptions. Clearly this was deliberate. Shame on them.

  2. Forcing everyone to report online should be illegal. Not everyone has internet access or even if they do has the capability to fill out online forms. It's just common sense that all methods of reporting compliance need to be provided. By mail, phone, in person, or online. I'm sure this was all part of the plan. Kick poor and weak people in the head, drive people off the program by making compliance intentionally onerous, then claim the statistics of lowered numbers enrolled show "success" of the program getting people back into the workforce. This is age-old by the GOP, age-old. Begun in the late 80s and hasn't stopped since. It's always out there, kicking around in one form of another.

  4. There is nothing wrong with asking able-bodied people to work, but they shouldn't make Medicaid eligibility based on that. It's wrong. Most people on Medicaid can't work or if they can it's not steady, like this woman. Enough already! All both parties have for us is brutality and abandonment. We desperately need a viable Socialist party in the US. AL should have to restore what was lost to those 18,000 victims.

  8. We live in a country run by sadists and sociopaths. Both parties are equally guilty of creating and enforcing these problems. Basic but comprehensive healthcare is a right in the First World. Period.
