  3. Everything is a scam and rip-off now. North San Diego, $100 a nite at our temp place. We'll be trying some place else locally; just waiting on our car getting fixed. Just needed temporary lodging after our previous lease came to an end. For our next long-term place I'm trying to think outside the box because I don't fancy paying $2000/mo for a standard apt, I don't care how nice the place is. (For duplex or detached home, I would consider it.) 6-10 years ago had no problem finding rooms sometimes for as low as 45/nt thru motel apps, but almost always often under 65/nt. Now? Phhffft! At this place is independently owned locally, but I suspect it's all related. (Also possibly the business property taxes could be excessive here, or maybe the owners are just trying to make as much as they can, like everywhere else)
