@JesusGodHolySpirit3 brains can change. She sustained an injury that resulted in her being able to process information differently afterwards, and apparently in a more desired way.
39
@JesusGodHolySpirit3 ok. I don't know how to explain it any differently. Basically she had a physical accident which resulted in a severe head concussion and when she recoverd she says she felt and thought differently and registered more feelings than before. So her brain was somehow affected from the accident, perhaps in a good way. Hope that makes some sense!

@stigludwigsen well I'd like to read it. Try to find the triggering word and type it in a different manner or use an asterisk to replace some letters. It's probably just one triggering word that is getting the whole post censored.

@UndertaIe94848 well, unless it gets worse, it may just be part of your normal development. Feelings and thinking change continuously through one's teens and 20s. They say the brain continues developing until around age 25. And of course we continue learning and growing throughout our lives. Not everyone feels a lot in the course of a typical day. Perhaps this is normal for you for now. But if you think something isn't right, don't be afraid to ask someone for help. You never know. They might help you with an issue you didn't know you had.

Hypo symptoms can be the worst. I've dealt with them. If synthetic prescription hasn't worked for her, suggest she consider NDT if she hasn't already. There are many great thyroid forums online for more info, I like Stop The Thyroid Madness! and healthunlocked. Just choose the thyroid community once there.
6
Wow. That is really interesting. Thank you for sharing.
6
@stigludwigsen hmm. Interesting theory. Could you try to elaborate? Maybe sentient isn't the right word. It is true that in colloquial terms, some people do some very evil things. I'm not sure I would call them non-sentient tho. In simple terms, I think of sentience as self-awareness. I would think either violent or non-violent APD-ers have self-awareness.
6
@lisanidog8178 that's not very nice. Why the attitude?
6
@UndertaIe94848 maybe you just have ptsd or depression. If you've been through trauma it's a good chance.
6
@UndertaIe94848 well, I don't know how old you are, but not being able to feel any enjoyment usually isn't good. You may want to talk to a professional if you can. This may be a symptom of a deeper issue. There's no shame in seeking help, in fact it's one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself. I'm not saying or implying there's anything wrong, bec I don't know anything about you, but I do think it's normal to be able to feel at least something pleasant or positive in your daily life. If you feel little to nothing, or only unpleasant emotions, there might be something else responsible.

@jacknackly5321 do you understand that her son was murdered? Can you understand that that's the worst pain a parent can undergo? Could you please try to understand that next time. disorder or not how do you expect a grieving parent to talk about the one who took the life of her son? We all know most people with APD don't kill anyone. Unfortunately in this tragic instance, they did. If you would suffered her loss trust me friend you would have said the exact same things that she did.
5
She didn't really love you. It's painful- but it's better she leave than only want you when you're perfect. That's not real love. Love is in sickness OR in health- not just "in health". I promise, no matter what you're dealing with, you'll find one who will. Don't give up. I wish I could say or do something to help with your physical conditions. I can't imagine what a struggle that must be. I know there's a way, legal or not, for you to regain your vitality. Please don't give up and please keep looking. I know you can get it all back. I can't say how, but I'm sure there's a combination of natural approaches that will give you your life back. Keep looking and keep trying. Don't give up. Don't forget about Cannabis, it's been know to work wonders before! Try to hang on. People out here are rooting for you.

@stigludwigsen I saw two comments by you. Was there a third?

@thumper84 who cares about inefficiency if everyone can access it??? I'll gladly trade one for the other if I have to and so would anyone else who doesn't want to be butt-rammed for basic healthcare and essential treatment, esp unique exotic treatments if necessary for life. Private market means money. Everything is behind a paywall. That's fine for some things but not essential needs. Public guarantees are the ONLY way to provide for everyone regardless of their income. You can listen to me. I know everything. Poor people matter TOO and if you've ever been poor you would understand why putting a premium price on everything is wrong. Universal Rights + Universal Guarantees It's the only way.

@nancyajlouny981 wow what a heartbreaking story. That sounds so difficult and painful. Can't they get her help? Clearly she was made this way by being trafficked. It's horrific to think what she must have endured. Those who trafficked her should be killed, slowly. Are they at least in prison??
3
@stigludwigsen very interesting. I'm going to think about that and get back to you if I have anything to add.
3
@stigludwigsen I think I might have deleted and reworded those haha. you have some interesting theories. It's food for thought. I'm still not sure sentience is the right word, and we can't get sure what was on the mind of any particular Higher Power at the time of creation or anytime since. But I'm open to considering every possibility when it comes to understanding different things.
3
@PapaPeregrine oh I see. Well there's one odd method you might like, called Oxycising. You can look up the website and YouTube channel. They have low impact versions for people of all mobility levels. It's basically just more organized breathing exercises that supposedly help the body burn more fat and be more fit. I'm not sure if it works or not but it well may. I've been meaning to give it a try but every time I start I drop off lol. I would like to give it a longer try and see if it makes a noticeable difference for me.

@songsmith31a some people are just long-lived. It must be in the genes. Both my grandmas lived until their 90s but neither had good health, one's was especially poor, or ever intentionally exercised. I believe in exercise because it enhances the quality of your life, but I don't think it necessarily can increase your lifespan.

Not trying to put anyone on the spot but I think a good non-scientific test to see roughly where you might fall on the psychological scale- how did you feel at 19:00+ when you saw the image of a hurt child? So for me, I felt an instant tightening of the chest, rage at who could have done this, a desire to make them pay in the same way, an instant disgust at having to see something innocent hurt, my heart rate went up, a feeling of shock and rage at seeing the results of extreme child abuse, and than having to remind myself it could have been from an accident and not even intentional abuse. All that happened really before I was consciously aware of it. All of this was 100% outside of my conscious control. The moment I became aware I had to remind myself it's not even real so I could "calm down". I'm pretty sure my eyes even started to water, although I can't be certain. I've even rewatched it to see if I get the same reactions again. They're a little dulled, but more or less still there. It's very interesting. Every time I see it I feel rage and I'm sickened and I KNOW ITS FAKE! I'm not special I just feel a lot for others. I always have. I can't turn it off. I'm glad I'm this way but it doesn't always make life easy. Would be interesting to know the range of reactions others might have had in those same moments.

@dodge10P1N have you considered NDT? Check out healthunlocked and stop the thyroid madness. All good sites with a treasure trove of good info.
2
For those who haven't done well on prescription thyroid meds, you may want to consider NDT- natural dessicated thyroid hormone, which is bioidentical to our own hormones and comes from animal sources, usually pig or cow.

@bafumat lol bruh mind games are for teens in relationships. But yeah I'm just curious. Not everyone's an emotional person, that's not a bad thing as long as someone strives to generally be fair and not exploit anyone. I could stand to be less emotional, would probably help me out in some ways. I certainly think it would make some things easier. You said you're an engineer, so you went to college? If so where? Do you have a degree? Did you enjoy the experience?
2
@bafumat ok. I was just curious. I'd hardly know who anyone is just by saying what school or region they went to. So for me, not that it matters, but I live in CA, southern region. I used to go to SDSU but never finished. Long story. Uh- not to be that person but please ✋- it's hamster. Pandas are flippin epic and are amazing in the snow- but I have to stay true to my palm potato roots. I mean it's hard enough for a rodent to get a fair shake in this world knowwhatimean?? #supportteamham #rodentsRrad

So sorry to hear of your struggles. How are you doing today? What's the biggest thing that you think needs to change in our medical system?
2
I can't imagine the pain of your loss. I'm so deeply sorry evil touched your life. May god be with you and help you. I'm sure you know you'll see him again. I believe you will.
2
@NurseSnow2U wow you've been through so much. I wonder how people can make it and come out in one piece after all that. So psychopathy and evil touched your life too huh??? I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm also deeply sorry you lost someone to COVID. I'm grateful I did not. I'm so sorry you lost your fiance. I can't even imagine that kind of loss. Just seems so unfair after everything else. What is the name of your podcast? I'd like to look into it.

@HeyHax 🙄

@ricka0917 look up shrooms, MDMA, ibogaine and Ayahuasca and all hallucinogens. Do your due diligence and research before you do anything, but yes, a positive trip can give you many insights and some have reported it's cured their depression or PTSD.
2
Hey bad ass info thanks so much! You said bile salts? Are they pretty commonly available?
1
That all sounds very wise!
1
Try adaptive exercises and pool classes, if you can do those. Your local YMCA or senior center would have listings.
1
If you're a vet I know the VA has adaptive therapies and exercise classes
1
@PapaPeregrine sure! I mean you never know what may help. We're all looking for better health and there's a lot of programs out there. Sooner or later we'll find the one that works for us.
1
@PapaPeregrine I tend to have a low metabolism and I do very well on a high protein diet as well. I do love my carbs and sweets but eh lol that's just something I have to work on.
1
@janearcher3834 Not illegal literally, but it's clear she feels intruded on more and more by the State. She and I may not share the exact same political affiliations, but I can readily understand families feeling that way. I may not always agree with all their reasons, but I can certainly agree with some of them.
1
@elchappo1320 as long as you do enough reps
1
Underwater swimming for as long as you can, in stretches. Provides surprising benefits. I used to do it but fell off. Supposedly improves your heart and lung capacity.

@rollinOnCode why?

Neutron Bombs to DC now and forever God bless you my fellow #veterans. You didn't know you were serving evildoers when you signed up. You didn't know your life and well-being meant nothing to them. You didn't know they were the REAL filth. You didn't deserve any of this. This never should have happened to you and once it did you should have immediately been admitted to the VA upon your return. DC is nothing but filth and the love of sadism and hopefully they'll all rot one day. #veterantoveteran

You mean temporary fasting -

Truth be told, cuz nobody likes a flat cake
1
@kazbaz8645 ditto for you. Perhaps NDT will be better for you.
1
@katelynm.9510 also reference my other comments here
1
@christienebotha6363 natural dessicated thyroid - usually made from pig glands.
1
@FinallyFreeeeeeeee hey flying away can you sum up the details for me? I too wish to get started on iodine.
1
@tendr247 interesting!
1
@Retired_Spook ohh interesting. How would one go about that??
