  1. No need to remember a slave trader. FFS, why don't we put up statues of Hitler and all the chief Nazis too?? I mean they were history, so we gotta put everyone ever who ever existed in history, no matter their legacy up as a statue, right?? Gimme a break. Hope they find or did find by now a new, suitable location for the BLM statue. Shame on the city council for taking it down. A wee racist are we still eh here in the 21st century?? That's rather a shame.

I don't know the local regs, maybe they should have checked with the local council first, but maybe they thought it would be appreciated and seen as long overdue. Maybe they should have dotted their I's better but I'd hardly call it criminal. Criminal acts include violence or serious white collar crime. Nothing else and certainly not this. Language matters. You should be careful how you use yours. And also maybe you should be less a ball-juggler and blind fellator of authority. Why take it down unless a) unnecessary and petty legalism or b) racism?? Put the other asshole in a museum if absolutely necessary but Black people are sick and tired of being treated as inferior and worse by those in the global North and I don't know how diverse this area is, but clearly some locals want change. No previous slave trader should be kept as a statue in public view in 2021. Hell those should have gone out with the '60s at least. It's too bad this triggers the bigots but they deserve to be triggered. I hope they keep getting triggered hardcore until they blow a gasket like a overheating robot or evolve. Why should we keep coddling ignorance??? How many more centuries are Black people supposed to meekly accept their 2nd and 3rd class status?? How much longer should white supremacy be allowed to exist unchallenged?? I hope the people who put this up originally stay on it and make further attempts to get it erected on that site or another suitable one.
