@micromundoasmr I have heard that desertification is a big struggle for Spain right now.... Actually , we're all kind of in that same struggle to one degree or another. Let's hope we win the battle against climate change and desertification before it's too late.

It seems like a shame the later city authorities changed Cerda's plans. Perhaps they felt they had no choice.

It seems like with a few changes to boxy heavy look of the buildings, it may have worked well. Many people live in high-rises today and enjoy them. Also, look at other places in Europe- it's very simple to create attractive desirable public housing if the political will is there. You just have to make sure the right visual and functional design is in place.
