Yes we certainly need some kind of term limits in all elected positions I say, AND the Supreme Court. I think it's ridiculous that SCOTUS is a lifetime appointment. Just a lot of key parts of the Constitution needs to get thrown out and redone, and would be, if I had my way.

That's actually crazy. Justin looks fkng great for almost 50 I'd say- wow. How come you people don't have a majority of 75-90 year olds in your parliaments and top levels??? We had a young hot shot here at one time, his name was JFK and RFK. Yeah the CIA people didn't like them very much and decided to do something about it.

Moneyed interests are already swooping in tho- our govt is a joke. It's 98% owned by lobbyists and big-money interests. I support a fair and effective way of doing term limits and age limits on every elected position in govt.

And some more thoughts- I tend to agree, and I also think our standards for eligibility for even running for office should be much higher. Garbage fucking in, garbage fucking out as they say- and it's true. There are virtually NO standards to who gets to run for office in the US and maybe that's why we have such a fucked up country with up to half of people living in some form of poverty or insecurity at any one time. The US is a unique and beautiful place in many ways, but we are still the designated third world country of the first world. How much better would things be for millions here if we had a governing body of generally morally decent, non-bought off, highly-educated, fairly term-limited, intellectually aware, emotionally stable, non-hyper-ambitious reps in both houses?? Is this even possible? I mean I'd like to think so. Right now we just have thugs ready for bribes with lots of cash who won thru having more exposure than their opponent (usually). Of course that's going to be a recipe for disaster and it certainly has been.

@chelseamcintyre6473 I understand that and I know it's frustrating but at least if more Democrats started winning the disastrous effects the Right-wing at all levels of govt would become less and less. For now, voting is our single best way to TRY to get better/less-bad people into office. Dgmw, I mostly hate the Democrats but they're preferable to the GOP fascists, that's all.

@chelseamcintyre6473 those are all valid criticisms and for the most part I agree with you, but what about early voting or mail-in aka absentee voting where you live? Is either available? If so, try those. Otherwise, I know it can be hard and it's totally up to you if you vote or not, but if you have political opinions and want to have some say in who becomes what, finding time to vote is something that has to get done. But I totally understand where you're coming from and it's appalling the levels GOP slime will stoop to to voter suppress. Too bad we have such an openly partisan, GOP-captured, illegitimate and shameless SCOTUS that enables and attempts to legitimatize this reality.

What about just not allowing senators to run consecutively? They can run as many times as they want but they can't serve consecutive terms? Considering the only thing politicians really care about is being immediately reelected, I think this would really help. It removes the self-serving aspect as a motivation for doing or not doing a certain thing while in office. House reps can up 3X, then they can't run for at least one term; and the process repeats. Or fuck just getting rid of the Senate overall.... Yeah but ofc that won't happen anytime soon.
