20:30+ holy shit Shame on past govts of Mexico. Fucking BASTARDS. Could you IMAGINE the standard of living for every person within Mexico if those two simple resources had never been privatized?? Even if a majority was concentrated at the top, if even SOME of it was distributed downwards, I'm sure it would have been MORE than enough many times over to end all poverty in the Mexican state, and even provide enough income to help its neighbors should the government so choose. Not saying they would have, but just imagine if they did- perhaps Central American grinding poverty could have likewise been at least partially alleviated. It never ceases to amaze me the lengths so many in federal government will go to, in order to be the handmaiden to the parasitical and rapacious, bloodsucking, amoral Big Business/Corporate class. Until that stops, all economic social ills will only continue.

This just in from US: Whoa whoa whoa- did we just hear that Mexico needs freedom????? Time to launch Operation Pointy Cactus StealAllTheLithium! In all seriousness though, I'm very happy to hear this and I hope this is a forebringer of many similar things to come for all of Latin America. I'm not saying there can't be private business; I'm not a fully 100% anti-private-business person; but a move like this can only help the common people. I think it's always the right thing to do to nationalize or at least partly nationalize national resources and needed public goods.
