  2. Jail, bail and prison is the biggest homegrown domestic industry in the US. Freeing people from this scourge and crime against them means a massive drop in profits in this industry and all its connected corollary businesses. They don't want that. Like Slavery 1.0, it's going to take a lot to end this but I know it's possible. One day human rights will come to America. No doubt long after most of the rest of the world has acknowledged and protected them.
