@terrancehall9762 hm. So you think it's fair to patent a series of 8 notes??? That really seems to go too far to me. Also a minor reuse of someone's so-called material doesn't cause them any real financial or reputational harm, in fact, seems to me one would be flattered that another would wish to positively sample some of their work. So to me, no harm equals no crime (or civil penalty). Also, doesn't intent to reuse and prior knowledge of this entity in question (music, video, type of thing) have to be proven in the case of the alleged "re-user" before they can be proven to have reused something illegitimately?? If someone uses a short arrangement of notes, how are they to know it is already in use by some obscure niche creator?? Basically, shouldn't the accuser have to prove deliberate intent by the user? To extend IP restrictions this far seems like it's becoming far too technical and overstepping the bounds of common sense to me.

@terrancehall9762 can I ask you something?? Couldn't it simply be a coincidence that she used those notes?? I believe IP law is getting hugely out of hand. You should watch the doc The Patent Scam. It will outrage you. It's retarded to patent everything. What's next, the color blue??? Wearing aprons??? Do you see how quickly this can get ridiculous?? We can't secure the rights to perfectly normal things that EVERYONE has the right to use. I'm not sure I believe in most uses of IP law as they currently stand.

@NateROCKS112 maybe they're not entitled, but shouldn't they be able to earn returns from their creation??? I'm very much on the Left, but not everyone can afford to create for free. People certainly have the right to profit fairly from what they created. Key word being fairly, of course.

Of course distributors would just love to keep having that monopoly forever, but than that holds up other possible use or advancement. No, I think I believe it's right to end IP rights at death, altho if you disagree you're welcome to tell me why.

IF ANYONE WANTS TO SEE THE VIOLENCE THAT DELIBERATE EXPLOITATION OF INTENTIONALLY BIASED IP LAWS CAN CAUSE, ⌚ KIM DOTCOM DOCUMENTARY. Absolutely appalling what they did to this man, all because these philthy corporate rat f*ckers in Hollywood claimed he was "stealing" from them. He's on the blue bird platform now.... I'm not sure if he has yet been able to recover all or part of what the govt took from him to date. I'm not sure of the current status of his situation. Anyone who lives in the US won't be shocked. Our govt at all levels (but esp federal) gives the concept of depravity and taking joy in the abuse and violation of others all new meanings all the time. Edit: also The Patent Scam. Although I'm not very well versed in this subject, yet; to my current understanding, ourcurrent US copyright and IP law is literally only in existence to benefit sociopath-level corrupt lawyers and of course, the big corporations.... Like everything else specifically legislated for in this country. I find it impossible to believe that any IP law written in the last 45 years was done to promote greater opportunity for the little guy. Who owns this govt??? Who do they bend over and get the kneepads for??? Yeah well you get the idea. Can't even get crumbs after a worldwide pandemic and 10 months after Biden took office. So I may not know the ins and outs of who IP law helps, but I know who the fuck it DOESN'T help, because I know the scandalous good-for-nothings who hold office here. Know the tree, know the fruit.... If you know one, you certainly know the other. Any IP law which protects ordinary creators but limits corporate monopoly and control is one I want to get all up close and personal with. Maybe swap as bodily fluids.... Etc. I don't think the specifics matter as much (altho they matter) as the broad strokes and goals of the law. Is this going to empower and protect the regular guy, or be yet another tool of wrongful accumulation by a business that's already far too large???
