@AlyxCoe Yes. But this does not mean he is keen on continuing it, he wants to make it clear the proposal he is selling is not a threat to the aid, so to lower the threshold for senators to vote for it.

@m0u3e007 She is number 3. The president is number 1. In declared dollars accepted that is. All top US politicians, on both sides, are cultivated by the state north of Egypt. This whole thing is a result of that.

@Mega123499 He seems to be all you have.

A call for an immediate ceasefire and a stop to the supply of arms would have been nice. But if this is what people in the US can absorb I'll take it. As a European I naively expected Biden, Blinken and whoever else in that cabinet to respond to these sorts of situations a little better than the likes of Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz. Silly me.

Up into the 2000s they got money too. It is unclear to me what exactly is in the 14.3 bln package. Vox has a good piece on us-weapons-israel-biden-package-explained . It seems today money primarily flows the other way to buy American polititians who will than cast BS stories and approve hand-outs of WOMD. It is portrayed as if the US is helping lsr@3l but they basically help themselves to the weapon deliveries.

Everything suggests that killing children is the plan. Hamas is just a convenient distraction and justification. And the US president is helping them to push forward and execute the plan. The world is watching but unfortunately does not seem to care much. It's just another news story. Biden's call for restrain is not credible while his declarations of support are so much louder. While he poses as a prop in Netanyahu's propaganda effort.

@sofialeroy6168 He is not the problem. His goal here is to stop that extra 10 bln and to put pressure on Israel. He is really talking to whatever living cells may be left in Joe Biden's brain and he does not want to overload them.

I welcome this speech but there is something profoundly wrong with it: a weird colonial overreach in stating that Hamas must go and a new Palestinian representation is needed. That is just silly, particularly because I do not hear him call for Israeli regime change. It is of course not up to Americans to choose a Palestinian representation. Mind this whole debacle was created by westerners choosing a "representation" for all people in that area and later by not recognizing Hamas after it was elected to represent the Palestinian people. Hamas will have to do for now because there is no alternative. Any other imposed puppet government will only be insult to injury for the Palestinian population.

Bernie is still beating around the bush. What these "unbelievable" guys want is regime change! That is you thing, America, topple governments. Do your job, for once for the better!

@AlyxCoe The motion he is calling for merely calls for an investigation according to existing US policy. Because this policy has been ignored recently, people have resigned over it. The Biden administration is not following procedures and Bernie wants them to do that. If they did, aid would have to be terminated over the way it is abused by the receivers. He wants the same thing you want. He just recognizes Biden (as well as most of the senate) is not sensitive to moral arguments so he tries the legal route instead.

@Mega123499 Yes, he has been careful, being aware of the sentiment and the positions as they are. It sickens me too that every comment on the topic by any politician apparently has to start with a long and winding condemnation of that little outbreak early October that is being milked to this day and of which we still don't know how many people were actually killed by people from Gaza. But Bernie is not the problem, he is pushing in the right direction. The likes of Schumer, Pelosi, Biden, Blinken, 90% of congress, all those deeply corrupt AIPAC mouth pieces are the problem.

No it's standard us policy. Only some pawns have switched places. The treason part is in what he is doing at home, which hardly anyone talks about because he controls what the news is about with some outrageous statements about foreign issues.
