It is only the most rabid closed minded Americans that move there. If you are any more empathetic and less racist you don't go and live there in the first place, that guy was lost before he touched the soil.

I am Dutch, 58 years old. I remember this was sort of used as an excuse when we were taught about it in school. In general the Dutch role was tiptoed around, we never got a good understanding of Dutch colonialism in school. But the Japanese role was stressed as bad. Like, we weren't that bad, they should have been happy with us occupying them, look what they got in return for their ungrateful rebelion!

@yusufkamal2005 I was never on Facebook or Instagram. I take it Meta is a boiling z10 cesspool. It's bad across the board. A couple of days ago I had a comment hidden on LinkedIn and got a notification about it. The bar is so low these days that I actually appreciated that. I could appeal, which I did, meaning a person would look at it (or so they claim). They seem to be in no hurry to pick it up though.

@squatch545 I quoted to make it clear what I was responding to. I live on YouTube and I comment a lot. I never get such notifications and my comments get shadow banned or hidden all the time, like more than half of them on some channels. Actual deletions are rare (like I don't even see them in my own history anymore) but even when that happened I did not receive a notification.
