Tennesse Brando had an interesting take on this. He explained this is what all cult leaders do, he is testing the waters. Would you sacrifice yourself for me? When he starts losing he will want to take all and everything down with him, literally.

It is basically Gleichschaltung, getting everything in society in line with the ruling doctrine.

But can be crimes nonetheless. Wikipedia about death threats: "In most jurisdictions, death threats are a serious type of criminal offence."

The Dead Kennedys come to mind. They had a song named "Kill the Poor" (1980), critisizing conservative America. It turns out they were not exaggerating.

Shortly after the incident I heard a doctor had looked at it and determined he had been hit by shattered glass. I think it was Ryan Grim, I don't know his source.

There's a difference between the risk of having people violently crash or have companies destroying the environment on the one hand and some people feeling insulted or being influenced by people on the internet on the other hand. The call for "regulation" of internet platforms makes me wary.

The only reason democrats do not publicly support rascism is because blacks still provide them with a slight electoral advantage. The moment that slips you will see their true colors too. It is already happening with the progressive left, they are now being attacked by the democrats for not liking janosidal policies. Unconditional support for fascism in the middle east. Decades in power, more inequality nonetheless. Go figure.

If he doesn't care for 2 million people in Gaza but he does for one single American corrupt crack addict, maybe he should not be president?

It seems Hollywood is struggling with bad guys again. I remember when the cold war was in decline, a movie director was complaining about his inability to continue to use Russians as bad guys. "In the old days we used Nazis. They were the perfect bad guys... EVERYONE hated the Nazis!" They were superceded by Russians but Gorbachev spoiled it and now he was at a loss. We as viewers should be able to choose our bad guys depending on our affiliation. How hard can it be to make a couple of different versions? They got computers and all. By the way, although I do not like Nazis, I saw the movie and I was not impressed. It is a run-off-the-mill, thirteen-in-a-dozen "find the treasure first" movie. Just super childish, playing it safe, pulpy middle-of-the-road, boring, intellect-insulting noise. My wife liked it though.

This is all utterly meaningless. The vice president is preaching to the choir in some Arab country few Americans ever heard of while the president is reiterating the Israeli mantra that "Israel has the right to defend itself" at home. The Palestinian authority is powerless, nothing but window dressing for Israel and the US. We see what is happening on the west bank, just more terror and colonization, there is nothing the PA can do about it and this is perfectly fine with the Biden government.

We keep hearing stories about crazies on the republican side, then realizing they are actually the relatively sane ones. It began with TFG being booed for telling people to get a COVID vaccine. It is troubling, one wonders how extreme they can get. But then again it may just be part of the regular process of any extreme right wing movement ultimately falling victim to infighting.

I don't think they will pick someone wealthy. It would have to be someone in debt, like Trump himself. How else would you control them?

You cannot blame foreign adversaries for derailing the United States, you are quite capable of doing this amongst yourselves. As to igniting war, the Biden administration's current demeanor in the middle east is a lot more worrying to me than some republicans wrecking your internal governmental structures. As a left leaning European I am having serious doubts about whether it would be such a good thing for the world if Biden did win the next election. Go figure.

@TJ_918 No but I do believe the chances of him actively supporting genocide would be slimmer.

@TJ_918 Have you followed the news lately?

This maskes perfect sense. She is messaging to her base what her attitude will be to all the people they don't like. And they don't like a lot of people, they would love to have someone in charge that knows how to deal with those in style.

This is just campaigning. Tough woman, likes her guns, no half-baked snowflake measures, perfect to take care of the border. I expect this to do well with the base.

"Just asking questions!" 😅

So we can tell where this is heading. Something tells me though this time they will opt for Muslims rather than Jews.

Yeah, whatever. Since the still continuing aftermath of October 7th and the democrats' stance in the matter it is hard to claim the moral highground and pin the stink on Republicans dude. So save your phony outrage please, Democrats are equally corrupt and deadlier as it appears. It is your political system that is for sale to the highest bidder. Not the color of the party that happens to have the white house or congress at any given time.
