  2. The debate at its core should not be about whether people deserve to die or not, death is not just a harsh penalty, it is basically different from other types of punishment. At its core, everywhere the death penalty exists it really is a way to get rid of people that are considered "not our kind of people", rather than deal with them. I see it as a tribal thing more than anything. So we're savages, or chimpanzees. It's all natural. The question is, are we OK with that?
