You've seen too many SF movies. Plus little that can be done for good is actually done. These duds will just be there for decades and take their toll before they are cleaned up, just like any of these things so far. They were banned for a reason. And dropping them into the ocean is a terrible idea. Fortunately this will not be done, also because it would be expensive.
