  1. Speed has nothing to do it. It's the injuries and the experience he had at Real Madrid off the pitch, mainly with Zidane. His speed was still there at 33. I don't know where you guys get this idea that speed becomes non-existent post 30. This isn't 1875. The level of medicine and nutrition players have available to them keeps them playing at a high level well into their 30s.
