  6. Pretty much the same story as when startups companies have a deal with venture capital. VC is looking for talented, highly-enthusiastic, growth business, etc, etc. - basically they are looking to support their strategic plan with the right person at the right time in the right place. Startup companies then racing to prove themselves as the most of the most talented, highly-enthusiastic, growth,.. etc,etc.. - basically they are looking to financed their vision. So, the story here is, when vision met the resources, nothing is impossible. This is true today in this war, in the business, as well it is true 600 years ago when Queen Isabella financed Columbus to find a new world.

If you refer to history, during 1960's the failed expansion of communism in south-east Asia, it was their people which supported by some of their military to wiped the communist out of their land, while the government is paralyzed. It was a tragic moment however. On some particular countries, some account more than 6 million communist killed mostly with no dignity (mutilated, thrown to river or left rot in field). No "government" with its soldier can do that. Only peoples that consumed deeply by hate can do that savage things.

  8. There is a difference between enemy and criminal. The enemy told us they are hostile so we fight them. The criminal told us nothing so we could not decide what to do with them. Countries that do not publish, manipulate or hide their data are criminal. The enemy can be a friend when things change, but criminals will always be distrusted for whatever they say true or false.

  9. There's the carrot and the stick. The carrot policy that Texas implemented to increase its population is a good thing. However, the stick is the current law which negates what the carrot policy aims to achieve. The risks for the younger people of starting a family outweigh the odds, to the point that some prefer to start a family outside the US or choose not to start one at all. This in turn will reflect on the quality of the family those living in the US will build. Therefore I totally agree with what Peter said "..saying you need more kids makes a lot of sense, how you get more kids that's what really matters". We only aim for quantity, not the quality of the kids we will produce.

  10. True. A simple route policy to deny traffic from hostile countries ip addresses would be a bare minimum to secure your network. This is especially true if your business has no presence in those countries (ie. an US nationwide chain store that serve customer only in US would be more than happy to drop traffic from China and Russia as they have no business from the people on those countries). This is a common practice today.

  21. Peter Z is reasonably logic. We do not have to push what we're not gifted for. If our land gifted for sunny land then build solar system. If windy then build the windmill. Force to use one way fits all will only bring inefficiency. A competitive advantage should be built upon comparative advantage. Not denying it.
