You know I work in semiconductor and chip manufacturing, and it is hard to reach even 7nm, do you know how china reached 7nm? Since china don't have EUV, they had to multi-patterning to get to 7nm which it isn't true 7nm in the scale of nanometers, but by using multi-patterning it reaches its interconnect and transistors sizes by the numbers only, not it's true size. Plus DUV nodes won't be able physically to mask such small nanometers as EUV does. Even Huawei executive says that they cannot reach the 5nm or smaller so we should focus on making the quantity of what we have, since we cannot go smaller with the US banned EUV machines to china.
