  2.  @alex6439  If you think that the taxpayers should pay (at least partially) for new metro lines then that is absolutely fine with me. It is just that many American taxpayers don't want to do that and that therefore many public 'things' like schools and infrastructure are often in need of maintenance, for example the subway of NYC. So your answer to my question is: "Yes, I want to pay for new metro lines via taxation". I have also paid for a new metro line in my country via taxation.
