  2. I usually pay something like 100 euro per night for a twin room in Japan, Tokyo is more expensive but that is compensated by cheaper rural places. You can very easily afford Japan (180 usd per night is a lot), you just have to compromise a bit when it comes to the size of rooms. It is up to you to decide if you want to do that.

Uhhmmm depends on what you mean with rich, a holiday in Japan is more expensive than for example a holiday in Thailand or Laos but Japan is in general not more expensive than Western Europe, Australia or the US. And it is definitely cheaper than Switzerland and Scandinavia. You should not think this appartement in the most posh area of Japan is somehow representative of Japan as a whole. It isn't. Check sites like airbnb and hotel booking sites to get a more balanced view. It also depends on the time of the year, accommodation is most expensive during the cherry blossom time and the Golden Week. You shouldn't dismiss Japan as a potential holiday destination based on one YouTube video made by someone who doesn't live in Japan but in China. Do your own reading.
