  2. There is so much money floating around in NYC, they have the money to fix this problem. NYC is not like Greece.

  3. There will probably be a pieds-à-terre tax and its revenues will be used for improving the subway.

  4. Maybe the NYC subway lines should close at night for maintenance? A well planned system of night busses can act as a replacement system, especially in combination with a traffic signal preemption system that makes the traffic lights turn green when the bus is coming.
