  2.  @ouethojlkjn  - “4 years on everything 8 years battery and drivetrain” Going on 8 years with my ICE, 89.4K, no repairs with the exception of plugging tires. I will need breaks soon, not looking forward to it. I had very little work on my former 19 year old ICE sedan. I still have a 21, going on 22 year old sedan… which needed a new radiator, brakes, and tires. “You want that on an ICE - get your credit card out” ICE sedans have been so reliable, for decades. Replacing EV batteries 🪫 is rough… basically results in throwing out the car.

  3. Hey @ouethojlkjn  - 3 cylinder with turbo, that is a lot of complexity, I don’t think I would specifically seek that engine out. I’ve heard about reliability issues, but no personal experience with them, or people I know. (I am sure a turbo is more fun than my car! 😀) Ford & GM EV cars batteries older than 6-8 years seem to have battery life expectancy & availability & cost issues. Maybe Tesla will be better, as they age, as you suspect. I am glad you like your purchase! I considered EV, but too expensive for my budget, and I make 1000 mile / 1600 km trips 1x or 2x a year. I guess I could rent a car. I almost bought a plug-in hybrid Ford CMax, but I bought a pure ICE 4 cylinder Ford Focus. The plug in hybrid was a little too expensive & trunk/hatch/boot space a little too small. The mileage on the 4 cylinder focus was competitive. I am pretty happy. I’ve hauled thousands of concrete block with the split fold down seats, and most recently hauled 39 10’ steel Unistrut /w a passenger for my solar panel project. Not sure I would feel OK doing the home projects I do, with an EV that costs 3x more. Enjoy your car! 🚗

  4.  @icosthop9998  - the EV was a greenfield design, not based upon an ICE platform, so there really is no good reason.
