30:54 - “why… China… open source it?” If China can become the trainer of Western AI models, they can add their censorship & fake data: - what happened at T- square? - How many are tortured in East Turkistan? - How many organs are harvested from life dissenters per month by the CCP? - Cruise missile misses targets in mainland China…

39:33 - “proves inflicting sanctions and stopping access of certain technologies to certain countries just makes them more innovative” The USSR only had technology they could steal. Sure, they excelled in algorithms & 2 continents of Human Resources but that was not enough to overcome the gaps with every day technology, military technology, oil extraction, etc. Cuba could never develop a thriving car industry, and they could not save Chavez. Venezuela & North Korea are the brunt of unfortunate jokes because of their lack of innovation due to the inhumane treatment of their citizens… No, access will not spur innovation needed to compete,

40:10 - “4kb of RAM to get to the moon. This is a solvable problem. … way more smart people to solve it” The 4kb of RAM was backed up by warehouses of female mathematicians producing the calculations necessary. Humans make errors. This is one of the reasons why Russia failed in so many more space program things than the US did - restrictions on technology… and human error related to lack of technology transfer was the cause of failure after failure. Access to technology is critical for advancement, and some things just can’t be copied well… and this is the case with semiconductor technology.
