12:45 - “risk and hazard” In my electric oven, my home almost caught fire on thanksgiving, with the electric coil in the oven breaking. My neighbor across the street had their house burn down, from their electric stove. I never saw a home burn down from a gas stoves

19:50 - “natural gas is going to fall by the way side naturally” I refused to buy a home without natural gas. When I have power outages in the winter… I can still take a hot shower, eat hot food, drink hot water, strategically heat my home when cooking, or using my gas fireplace. My last major outage was 66 hours. I was able to heat my whole house with natural gas heater & eat hot food by merely connecting an inverter to my gasoline sub-compact car to power half my house. The lights & ventilation & electric ignition worked on all my gas appliances (stove, hot water, heat) with a simple inverter plugged into my car, and my household was comfortable… for a few hundred $$$. A couple full gas canisters in the house provides a degree of extra security. Anyone who has elderly they are caring for where there is risk of winter storms needs to make a basic decision of life & death when purchasing a home… and alternative energy sources powering the home, like electric & gas, is key to that decision. People in warmer climates don’t have the same needs.

@Da_GrandiMan - yes, my gas heat & gas water heater is also electrically controlled. For my electric ignition gas water heater, I use a 1500kva UPS… runs it fine! (These use 2x 12v lead acid batteries, I change the batteries every 3-5 years, recycling the old ones at local HoDepo.) The UPS also runs my household internet equipment. When the power stays out for longer, I attach an inverter to my car & run half my house. Works great!

9:50 - “heat the room” With a gas stove, restaurants don’t need to have heating in buildings, which is a cost savings.

15:19 - “induction stove tops” Are stinkin expensive. I wanted to buy an induction stove top, and I was able to get a natural gas stove & oven for less money than just an inductive cooktop. In the end, I bought a natural gas for the basement & radiant for upstairs… but cooking on the natural gas is much easier for cooking & cleaning up afterwards.
