Nuclear provides constant power, while wind does not provide power when the wind stops… so wind needs alternate temporary energy generation units. Nuclear can increase power output & reduce power output. Wind can not be made to increase power on demand. so wind needs alternate temporary energy generation units.

@sidremus - the Soviet reactors are far less reliable & safe than Western reactors. Suggesting a Russian built/operated reactor accident should cause Western reactors to close is like saying The West should ban their military from using guns because the guns of former Soviet State militaries are so lethal.

5:40 - “environmentally disastrous coal” Reasonably done, it is not disastrous. If it is disastrous, leaving it in the ground must be bad, so processing it while extracting energy can be reasonable.
