Africa was exploited by Arab Muslims from late 600’s, unbelievers could be enslaved & sold as labor, and that is why indigenous Africans are called Kaffirs. Western Europeans were slaved by converts to Islam in North Africa, Ottoman Muslims enslaved Eastern Europeans, Persian Muslims enslaved Western Asians south of Russia. When ethnic minorities are enslaved according to religious rules, it causes wars. Freedom is at the heart of wars there… and collaborating with slavers got next generation collaborators rich & powerful. WW1 ended slavery, living Black Gold exchanged for piped Black Gold… but slaving was still occurring under the covers. The Islamic State reauthorized slaving from the Middle East and slaving becoming commonplace with the fall of Libya back in Africa. Aspirations for Africans, like people of every continent, is freedom & autonomy.
