  1. A nation can have the highest defense budget in the world, as long as there are many small bad guys. Recently, China’s navy received and ignored multiple SOS distress calls in the Middle East, to terrorists & pirates respectively, violating international laws of the seas. China demonstrated China is impotent & incapable of acting by like a good international actor against pirates & terrorists. China’s inability to answer international SOS calls demonstrates someone has to be able to respond to terrorism & pirates, and that means the US is thanked by hundreds of nations around the world for having large military budget.

The role of the government is to bear the power of the sword against those who would do wrong against its citizens & guests. “America is endlessly at war ever since it was founded” America disbanded their military after its founding . It was the Islamic Pirates of North Africa, attacking US civilian vessels 🚢, kidnapping Americans, holding captured people for ransom, and selling captured people with no hope of ransom into slavery that started the endless wars that the US had been involved in. It started happening most recently, with Islamic State in Modern Syria 🇸🇾 & Iraq 🇮🇶. It is happening now off the cost of Yemen 🇾🇪. The US has been very tolerant of the missiles being launched by Shia Muslim Rebels in Yemen 🇾🇪, after the President Biden took the Houthis off the US international terrorist list. What a nice way to respond. At some point, substantial military response will occur.
