  1. I'm not so sure. I think this may be an attempt by Democrats to register as Republicans so they can vote against Trump in the GOP Primary and then switch party affiliation and vote Democrat in the General. They did it last year in Utah when many Democrats switched party affiliation before the GOP primary and supported Becky Edwards in an attempt to keep Sen Mike Lee of the GOP Ballot. After Lee won the primary, they switched back to Democrat and supported Even McMullin who although a Democrat, ran as an Independent. This is SOP for Democrats instead of just running a Clean Race. Note: The Democrats in Utah did not put up a Candidate in the 2022 Mid-Terms to run against Lee but instead had Evan McMullin who is a Long Time Democrat run as an Independent.
