  17.  @katherinelawrence3032  So why is DC a Federal District and not a State? The reasoning for that is with that situation no State can lay claim to the Seat of Government. Which makes sense. Now I get why Democrats want DC to be a State. DC goes Democrat every time and if they could make that happen that would be two more Senate Seats and at least 1 more Congressional Seat they would pretty much have guaranteed. I really don't think that Democrats care about the people in DC, it's just those numbers they want.

In 1964 we had a Democrat President and Democrats had a 17 seat MAJORITY in The Senate and a 2/3 MAJORITY in the House. Here we sit 61 years later and we have a Republican President, A GOP controlled House and Senate. So you call Democrats losing 19 seats in The Senate and giving up nearly 100 seats in The House Gaining Popularity"?????
