Yea I agree. I'm thinking right now about moving to Juarez Mexico, Syria, South Sudan or Somalia. I'm tired of living scared and want my children to be safe. Any one of these countries are much safer than what we have here in the U.S.

@globaljuju Yes, but Bumper T stated that it only happens in the US. There are many, many places in the world that are Substantially More Violent than the US and guns are available even easier there.
2
@globaljuju And who determines what "Sensible" is? I guess from that argument NAZI Germany enacted "Common Sense" gun laws in Warsaw Poland. And I think we all know how that worked out---- Don't We.

@lofivibes3640 I have to wonder when Nations all over the world will ban the sales of alcohol. In the US more than ten times as many people are killed every year as a result of alcohol than guns. So where is the outrage for this killer?
2
@lofivibes3640 And how many folks are killed and traumatized as the result of alcohol? A mother and her two children are heading home from a school play. Driver crosses the center line and hits them head on. Father is at work and gets a phone call telling him he just went from a family of four to being alone and burying his wife of fifteen years and his two children. Happened to a close friend of mine. I will give you a dollar for everyone killed in the US by gunfire each year if you will give me fifty cents for each person killed as a result of alcohol. And guess what? At the end of the year I will have ALL of your money. Us Justice Department statistics say the number killed by gunfire each year is approx 13000 (this includes Suicide and accidental shootings). According to the same statistics the number killed as a result of alcohol is nearly 150000. And let's not forget about all the spouses and partners who are beaten by their Domestic Partner and the cost to society to house and care for all of those who are incarcerated in this country for crimes they committed while intoxicated. So would you support banning alcohol which causes on average ten times the deaths of gunfire?

@lofivibes3640 Not defending anyone. Just pointing out statistics and comparison of them.

@bumpert2217 So Bumper. How would you suggest that the US round up 380 Million plus guns that are in the US? With alcohol you ban further sales and possession and that takes care of it. No one can have lets say a bottle of Whiskey that they pass down form generation to generation and it can keep being used like a firearm can. My point was though is that if we should ban firearms because of 14000 deaths a year wouldn't it make sense to ban something else that causes between 10 to 12 times as many?
2
@bumpert2217 No my point is that if 14000 deaths a year are intolerable than 140000 plus should be much more intolerable shouldn't it?
2
@sheky275 And Japan's Suicide Rate is nearly 7 times ours and their not allowed to get downwind of a gun. Your turn.

@sheky275 Yes because they don't have guns. But let's look at violent crime in general. After all a murder is a murder regardless of how it is committed. So a quick search turned up the following Industrialized Nations with a higher Violent Crime Rate than the US. Sweden, France, Morocco, South Africa, Bahamas, Brazil and Argentina just to name a few. However by your argument we should ban things that cause death to people. So how would you feel about banning or Severally Restricting access to alcohol as by US Justice Statistics Alcohol Causes Ten Times as many deaths per year in the United States as guns and this rate is Much Higher in other High Income Countries? My bet is that you wouldn't as you like to have a drink and don't like guns. And on a final note would you be in favor of putting Gun Control up for a National Vote? I can assure you that you wouldn't like the outcome.
