There was a pistol called the Wilkinson Arms Linda chambered in 9mm that looks an awful lot like this design.

@jacobcastro1885 I agree. The US Military did just fine for MANY conflicts with M1 Carbines (yes I know that theM2 existed) and the M1 Garand. Additionally the SKS soldiered on through MANY battles without a full-auto feature. In the type of situation Ian is discussing I believe semi-auto would be just fine.

I'm absolutely amazed that this guy didn't go on to become a world famous firearms designer. Considering the conditions he was working under this gun is fantastic. Additionally it shows what a waste of time gun control is. Imagine with today modern machining what could be made in home and local shops.

So it seems like a decent design. Why hasn't a company that knows what they are doing picked up the design and built a quality version of The Mamba?

VERY Cool. As a big M-1 Carbine fan I would buy one in a second if they were brought back into production.

Actually a VERY COOL gun. Thank you so much for sharing.

If you look at the number of CNC mills currently available in The US, the ease of machining an AR lower and upper receivers and the number of companies currently building AR Pattern Rifles in The US, manufacture of these rifles would be the least of Americas worries in a SHTF scenario.

Substantially more rare ASP also converted a very small number of Ruger Service Six's and Speed Six's into 5 shot 44 Specials. Very unique gun.

It makes you wonder if a slightly heavier recoil spring or some polishing wouldn't cure the problems?
