  7. Central planners did decide on nuclear power in France in the 1970s after the French suffered electricity droughts following oil embargos related to Oil states warring with Israel. It worked out very well for them. At that time in the 1970s the French had a lot of diesel-powered electricity which vanished or became very expensive under the embargos they suffered. I'm not a big fan of central planning, but once in a blue moon it can succeed spectacularly.

  9.  @PiOfficial  Renewable energy depends on: - weather - seasons - day/night - your location - especially latitude. People need - energy on demand, not when nature says:- "I'm ready to give you some energy now"; If the energy isn't there when it's needed it's useless, or - constant energy:- for example to power street lights, a server farm, or a long-distance journey. Renewable energy is also land intensive - compared to high density fossil fuel energy or even higher density nuclear power.

  11. It's bizarre. When I first came across pomo, 4 decades ago: on the Left - all the pomos were jubilantly anti-Marxist, and anti-Utopian. The non-pomos were, instead, often into "Critical Theory", which although suspicious of practical Marxism, still aspired to some kind of Utopianism, and respect for Marx. But anti-Utopianism and Leftwing thinking are kind of incompatible - like water and oil. So a group of Leftists created a paradoxical fusion of Critical Theory with Postmodernism - just over 3 decades ago. They did this slyly by creating: Postcolonialism and Intersectionality. This fusion of incompatible ideas only works by them avoiding debate. This explains their love of safe spaces, no-platforming and non-debate.

Does that include promoting the notion that: - a man can become a woman by simply claiming he is; so must be treated as a woman. - all white people are intrinsically racist so it's OK for progressives to hate white people - "climate change deniers" should be banned because they, too, disagree with Democrats, and "progress"? - vaccine companies are angelic, and one is obliged to take their products despite them doing shoddy phase III trials, NO phase IV clinical trials, and their gene therapy products not even being vaccines? PS: I never voted for Trump. I don't even live in the USA, but your spooks banned me from Twitter for questioning too many Dem "narratives". I went from liking Dems 2015, to dreading them today. Progressives came to hate freedom because they were taught in UNIs to hate everything Western: liberty, material progress, free speech, truth; to consider people the enemy of "progress". Weird notion of "progress" progressives ended up with.
