A massive study from 2015 showed that 17 times as many people die from cold compared to those who die from heat. So the norm is little old ladies dying from cold. Q: What was Obama's plan for that? A: more expensive electricity.

Such is their competence at presenting their "case" that I often think these people deliberately undermine their own arguments.

"They never just try to sell it" to us because, for 99% of us, there's no cost-benefit to renewable energy.

Central planners did decide on nuclear power in France in the 1970s after the French suffered electricity droughts following oil embargos related to Oil states warring with Israel. It worked out very well for them. At that time in the 1970s the French had a lot of diesel-powered electricity which vanished or became very expensive under the embargos they suffered. I'm not a big fan of central planning, but once in a blue moon it can succeed spectacularly.

He's not the brightest spark. One must be pretty dim to fall for the standard greenhouse gas atmospheric model.

@PiOfficial Renewable energy depends on: - weather - seasons - day/night - your location - especially latitude. People need - energy on demand, not when nature says:- "I'm ready to give you some energy now"; If the energy isn't there when it's needed it's useless, or - constant energy:- for example to power street lights, a server farm, or a long-distance journey. Renewable energy is also land intensive - compared to high density fossil fuel energy or even higher density nuclear power.
