  1. Carthage began as a Phoenician colony. Phoenicia was just North-West of Judea where Lebanon is today. Carthaginians looked just like middle easterners; they were not black.

  2. At the end of his 3rd crushing victory at Cannae, Hannibal's generals advised him to march on Rome and take the city. Hannibal declined because he had no siege equipment. Had he taken Rome, history would've turned been less Western.
