Dr Tracey implies it may be dangerous to take more than 2000 IU vitamin D daily. Where did she get that number from? I think it's a made up number. Many decades ago: a study was done which fed 250,000 IU /day/person to a group for many months. After a few months some of them developed vitamin D toxicity symptoms. Later, another study was done with a group fed 60,000 IU/day/person for many months. It found some also acquired toxicity symptoms. I'm unaware of any study which showed toxicity with less than 50,000 IU/day doses. I personally take 8000 IU daily. It's the largest dose I can get in the UK. I think we should assume such studies have been done (< 50,000 IU/day/person) but the results are unpublished because nowt bad happened. Otherwise, perhaps someone can quote a study showing toxicity at less than 50,000 IU / day? If so please cite that study. Way more people suffer vitamin D deficiency. 99% of you living at latitudes far from the equator need to take vitamin supplements in winter. I live at 52°N.
