  1. Why does the soft left not stop the hard left? Because there are no real Left & Right. Those are just narratives dating from where groups sat during the Estates General of the French Revolution. Reality is there's what works and what does not. As a rule, the 'Left' decided that everything which exists (i.e. which works) is the 'Right': capitalism, the Family, every institution, cops, human rights, history (especially statues), freedom ... are all "The Far Right' to the Left.

No - what does it say about either evolution or how we think we perceive, or how we think we evolved? It says evo-psych has some bugs in it. Those aren't necessarily the bugs the Left sees in evo-psyc h. I'd say our story-telling abilities bulldoze us into accepting group narratives which can be harmful to the group. We accept these group narratives because going along with the group is generally good for us individually - if, for example, we want to influence or command the group. Influencing or commanding the group is an evolutionary adaption. So harming the group can be a good evolutionary adaption.
