Woke hasn't meant what it originally meant for well over a decade. We want to talk about what woke came to mean in the last 10 years. "We" being liberal minded people. We'd have agreed with woke in it's original meaning. But today's woke: - privileges so-called marginalised groups: LGBTQ, black people, ..., intersectionality - is authoritarian & anti-authoritarian at the same time - hates Western history and heritage. - performs politics in a childish, narcissism form

@alwynwatson6119 Name the anti-woke strawmen. What's genuine woke?

The SJW (woke) believe they revolutionized liberalism by replacing liberalism's old ideas liberty, equality, freedom and economic growth with diversity, equity, inclusion, and sustainability. In fact, no new social system will work when it's just dreamt-up. Liberalism worked by being tried from the bottom up and found better. Woke can only be imposed top-down. Like all top-down systems it must fail. Woke cannot overcome it's defects because they never debate. They have a Maoist mentality to debate : shout down the opposition!

Woke means anything a SJW campaigner promotes.

So woke is a cherry-picked position; and uses Motte-and-Bailey fallacies to advance and defend itself: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motte-and-bailey_fallacy It advance in the name of civil rights but is ultimately an attack on civil rights.

The modern left - the 'woke' - influenced by Carl Schmitt, Martin Heidegger, German (Nazi) Volk environmentalism, and Nietzsche's most famous and successful progeny: Michel Foucault! . Yet they spend so much of their time calling the rest of us Fascists! One, literally, cannot make this stuff up.

No one gets to define a label owned by another group. When the group who coined the term - for themselves - now refuse to accept the idea ever existed. I think Susan N is right. We need to analyse woke. It's history, connections, political uses, ...
