@thewr0ngchild You watch too many Hollywood movies. Why would they be "in the deep rainforest" in the first place? If they were there to expose logging, they'd stick to roads because loggers must have roads.

3rd post about "drug cartels". I'm beginning to think someone's pushing an agdenda.

I don't think the police claim that they were "taken and killed"? What leads you to think that? Who would want them?

Comments on this story are bizarre. Many people - many thousands of miles away - giving us detailed explanations of what happened & who did it; based on no evidence. Often blaming "Bolsonaro's henchmen" or "drug cartels". Speculation & projection are bad things. We should not do it with news. Definitely not publicly. It may make you feel good to project evil onto Bolsonaro. But it's not making you more credible commentators as I see it. It makes you less credible. It also encourages mass media to make stuff up. Media air stuff they think you want to watch - they sell viewers to advertisers. This (speculation & projection) are a big reason why "news" media is more biased & worse today than, say, 10 years ago.

There are no crocodiles in South America - except in Zoos.

Wow - another Hollywood movie addict. One does not "stumble upon" a cartel coke operation.

@michaelgaskell7408 Relatively speaking: the Amazon if unpopulated. So not full of "henchmen".

Police arrest a second suspect. https://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/news/brazil-police-arrest-2nd-suspect-for-amazons-missing-pair/ A local fisherman - not a drug cartel member. Cocaine isn't grown by the river (it's grown on the side of hills), nor is it a drug trafficking area.
