I thought this would be a funny pisstake; but no - Tom takes himself seriously, and is obviously fanatically loyal to the woke cause. So, it's more leftwing demonization and hate speech; a kind of left wing moral panic discourse. Fascism hasn't existed as a thing in politics for 77 years. Not since 1945 when all the Fascist regimes in Europe ended.

I've met thousands of people in my life but never ever met a Fascist; so where are you people finding them? In contrast, every second person I meet is happy to call every other second person "Fascist" without knowing much about them, and, crucially, without having talked or listened to them. None of these Fascist finders read Adorno et. al.'s "Authoritarian Personality" book.

@Rusheman13 You have a very wide definition of Fascism. Today: "fascism means anyone who isn't our side". It's been misused for at least 60 years; since the 60s; especially by the far left. How cute you don't ken basic reality.

@Rusheman13 Name some of the "many people in the US do believe in this way of running society". You cannot. I've encouontered a lot of Americans online. I never came accross a single one who believes in dictatorship. Not one. I dounbt you've encountered such a person either. Leftists like your live in reality distorsion field fueled by your own propaganda. Propaganda designed to scare people witless so they'll support you.

@supernenechi You or your mates don't get to redefine Fascism as you please. I studied enough Italian and German history to know what Fascism was. History tells us what the definition of Fasism is; not academics in Ivory Towers making stuff up to further their careers.

@pew6534 Read your history. The term "fascism" was first used in 1915 by members of Mussolini's movement, the Fasces of Revolutionary Action. Mussolini having just been expelled from the PSI { Italian Socialist Party } because he supported world war one. In his 1916 book in Germany, Johann Plenge replaced the "ideas of 1789" [rights of man, democracy, individualism and liberalism] of the French Revolution, with the "ideas of 1914": duty, discipline, law and order, which he argued were the basis for "National Socialism". So 1915, and 1916. In both the Italian and German cases Facism began as a new kind of socialism, with explicit anti-Capitalist ideas. So calling any non-socialist a "Fascist" is dishonest slander. No one get's to retropectively redefine Fasism. You erase actual history when you do that.

@pew6534 Your comment is a simplistic way of putting words in someone else's mouth. I didn't say "Nazi" nor "fascist" in my comment above. So I could not have said "the Nazis weren't fascists" <- You wrote that.

@pew6534 If that's what you meant, why didn't you just say it the first time? I think the Nazis believed themselves to be soclialists = "national socialists". Socialism is a 'broad church'; so the NAZIs were certainly socialists by definitions which count. NAZIs were NOT international socialists; but were certainly identity socialists. Given all politics today is identity politics, who would ever dare call NAZIs "not socialist"?

Do you think I'm a "potential Fascist"? Or is your purpose of Tom's post to fuel paranoia in order to recruit left wing cultists?

@maxv9464 I apologise to you then. I'm sorry I said you lied. I wrote hastily. However, I also see confederate flags there - that doesn't mean the Confederate army reformed and renewed the civil war. It means people like their symbols - especially, sometimes, when the symbol upsets other people. In much the same way that punks, rockers and wiccan people wear clothes to distinguish them - these right wingers wear symbols. The right often call the punks, wiccans and such "satanists". That does not make them actual satanists either. Nor do I call someone wearing an ankh an actual ancient Egyptian religion cultist.

Unless we talk to them we can't really know why they're displaying these offensive symbols (swastikas). Oh but - you refuse to talk to them don't you? So you don't want to know. So don't pretend to me that you're a fount of wisdom.
