  1. Marriage simply means "union." An alliance. I remember learning in high school that before the 1400's a man will moved into a woman's family house, he would become her husband, they would be unified. Then christianity made it a sacrament and of course it became a more standard way of doing business: you must get permission to get married, you must be approved by the holy church, you must paid a fee to get married because the only "valid" way to married was by the church. I personally think that homosexuality is an anomaly, yet if two consenting adults choose to unite their lives and do in an honorable way by respecting and caring for one another, why would they not allowed to unite. People are getting hang up on the word marriage because it threatens their sense of safety and then possibly fear the world becoming homosexual and with this, of course no one will procreate if this were to happen, yet is very unlikely. When we are attached to terms without knowing the history behind, we look foolish. In my opinion, if christians have claimed the term "marriage" belonging to a "man and a woman" then homosexuals can claim the term "union" of 2 men or 2 women. They both mean the same, yet they are applied differently and everyone is happy. The word "Marriage" has a religious connotation, obviously. "Union" is clearly the adding 1+1 or heck 1+1+1 if that is what they desire. https://www.sagu.edu/thoughthub/the-history-of-marriage/#:~:text=Although%20it's%20clear%20that%20God,union%20of%20man%20and%20woman.

  3.  @ZetsubenSama  You are right, I forgot about one Roman Emperor that when his wife died, he took this young man whose features were similar than his wife and made him dress like a woman and therefore it was as if his wife was still alive. I am not arguing against men marrying men or women marrying women, to me the word simply means "union." what I am suggesting is that traditionally a marriage implies a union between a man and woman to procreate. Find another word to symbolize your union, do not take one that traditionally means something for the majority. In my view, this makes things to flow easily without going back and forth. If someone finds themselves threaten, of course they will fight you. I have many friends that are homosexual and lesbians, I respect their right as human beings and their personal choices as long as they do not hurt others. There is a fine line that can be easily crossed: now they are arguing about giving children under 18 to have sex parental consent. In my opinion, I would prefer to honor the healthy family system and when they become adults, they can choose, until then, parents have responsibility to care and guide their children. By the way, the word "family" comes from the greek "property/possession." There you have it, how words have been bastardize over time. Now we have an utopian view of what a family is.... You speak of "earning" and I don't think anybody has "earned" anything, they spoke up and stand their ground and eventually the culture gave in. This is not always the case, that is way I do not believe in "earning." Somethings is time for things to go in certain direction. I really know nothing. I am better off staying away from conversations. Everybody is already set on their own view and it is not my intention to change anybody.

  4.  @ZetsubenSama  no offense taken. I thank you for realizing that I am not against anything really, as long as is a conscious decision. You are right about the cognitive dissonance in the US: We do not allow children to drink at 18, yet they are fully capable to handle a gun? Is a rubber band effect that in my opinion continues to keep us stuck in old ways. You can see the culture in the US and if you go back in time, you realize that the same puritanism exist: we say this is the land of the free, yet we remain slaves to an industrial revolution where the only thing that matters is money and possessions. I agree with you that change is necessary, I am just suggesting a smooth change, not a drastic one: By going side ways instead of head on, the resistance will be less. Unfortunately we are easily derailed by the media and the corporations whose only interest is profit. They use the population to keep us fighting and arguing with one another while they cut their deals behind doors. I believe we are a culture severely psychologically damaged, not that you are not 🙂It is that it seems that in Europe it helps you be next to many different cultures and have smaller country. The size of the US is immense and people are focus on working for their retirement and stop working-living in a future that never comes. I agree with you, I was a single mother myself and there was no help at all to help me take care of my children, yet when someone saw something they thought it was wrong, they call the police immediately and the threat of your children being taken away is real. We are definitely on the way of destruction, yet that seem to be the only way to get out of this mess. We are so twisted mentally and psychologically: How do you explain pornography, drinking and driving, sexual abuse, mutilation of children claiming that they are in the wrong body (the human brain stops developing until the age of 27, I am just starting to find myself at the age of 55). Thank you for engaging in the conversation, I appreciate another perspective and if we all could learn to open our minds and ponder that maybe, just maybe the other person could bring a point I have not considered before, we could be in a much better position. Most of the time we are engaging with people with a 2 year old brain that do not accept another point of view and would shut you down immediately because changing their mind means the end of the world. Thanks again!
