  4. Thanks Jake - Back in the 1950s there was a politician from Wisconsin named Joseph McCarthy. He held committee hearings about people falling under the influence of communist Russia. History teaches us that his concerns were greatly exaggerated. However, today, we find ourselves with 50 to 60 elected officials in the House of Representatives who do appear to be influenced by Russia. This influence is to America's detriment. History takes odd twists. Victory for Ukraine!

Wikipedia says there are 10 million people of the Polish diaspora in the US. There's a million in Canada and 100, 000 in Australia. There's a million in Brazil.   75. Good Video - A few years back, I was traveling through the US state of Georgia. There was a monument there for the "Trail of Tears." Native Americans were forced from their homes and sent to Oklahoma. Many of them died. It was a bad thing. This war teaches me some of the history of Russia. I learn the Russian Soviets caused many "Trails of Tears." Relocating the Tatars is one example. This Tatar thing that Stalin did bore similarities to the "Trail of Tears" in that thousands of these people died. Today Russia is applauding Josef Stalin as though he is a man the Russians would like to emulate. I guess t0he Russians admire works of evil. It is indeed an enigma. Peace for Ukraine!

Finnish commenters have said they don't even want it back as the folks living there would be a high expense to Finland. It kind of seems that Russia is a sort of taint. It's like what land it touches gets covered with a bad mold. Kaliningrad (Konigsberg) seems to have a lot of trouble too. Kaliningrad has a good location for Russians to thrive, but the taint is there.

  169. Good video - I recently saw a Joe Bloggs video where he said much the same things but in a slightly less entertaining fashion. I view this a little differently. Since this war started, I've learned that the bulk of Russians are dirt poor. Their lives may not be affected a great deal by the sanctions. Russia has enough cash reserves to keep them employed at their mines, sawmills, herding reindeer and other ventures.. If they can't sell to the outside world, the product can be stockpiled. However, from my limited perspective, the lives of those in the cities may eventually feel the sanctions. It seems like all you hear about from those cities is McDonalds changing hands. Russia seems to be a bit of an economic fortress. They raise their own foods, produce their own fuel and largely live independent of the rest of the world. Perhaps, they will finance public works with part of their great cash stash. It reminds me of how my grandfather said they "got by" in the great depression.

  207. Could Ukraine develop some cheap blimps or balloons to fly into Russian territory? Less energy should be required for these to fly so smaller batteries. A flock of these could be sent at once. Most would be harmless balloons and shouldn't need guidance mechanisms. The Russians would be obligated to waste munitions to shoot them all down. If not shot down, the small minority of inexpensive lethal balloons could be guided to targets in Russia to do their thing. The usage of these depends on prevailing winds, but winds do blow North over Russia. As the Russian public becomes aware of these blimps / balloons, they may not be happy with their regime. Just a thought.

Ukraine has done a bit of this to the Russians, but not enough. They should be allowed to use long term weapons to increasingly destroy electrical substations. Those separate governments could work out deals with the highly populated countries of Asia to help build roads and develop the resources. The deals would have to be well crafted so the indigenous people get a good share of the wealth. China has sort of a version of this in the Belt and Road initiative. If done properly, the living standards of the people in those new countries would be lifted. The French came with a huge army and put a puppet emperor in charge of Mexico. The freely elected government went into exile into the Mexican hills. Eventually, the French ran into trouble back home and had to withdraw their army. Then the people could come from the hills and take back their land. Just like Putin, the European powers back then (mid 1800s) truly believed in their imperialist right to subjugate others.

Other members of NATO are allowing it. It would be a show of unity with other NATO members to allow Ukraine to defend itself with US weapons and strike back into Russia. As this war is carried to a point where it affects the average Russian citizen, he or she will have increased motivation to stop this war. Decreasing the supply of refined oil products to Russia should surely do that. Modern economies run on petroleum products. It takes very little imagination to imagine the public's reaction of the lack of fuel. They will not blame Ukraine. They will blame Putin.

Time after time he has told his audience that Ukraine needs weapons. Your wonderful historical perspective and reverse inverse time curve helped my limited mind to see what i hope is the truth. I'm also hoping that the partial vacuum caused by Russia putting all available troops into Ukraine takes hold. Nature abhors a vacuum. While Russia is involved in Ukraine, other areas are being somewhat neglected. I don't know how or why something will happen, but Russia has been focused long enough on Ukraine that something will happen. It's just the way the world works. The US has rather unfriendly relations with Venezuela at the moment. It is possible that the US could establish better relations with Venezuela. The US has the resources to help increase oil sales for Venezuela. This could be a win-win. World petroleum prices could drop. Venezuela would receive cash to help its people. Russian revenues from oil sales would drop. India and China could get an even better deal from Russia on oil. OIl given to Ukraine to keep their economy going would cost less to donate. Inflation caused by the incredible rise in the price of oil would be lessened. Perhaps the US would have one less enemy.

  810. It may be hard to obtain valid data. Ukrainians say the Russians have lost over 30,000 troops (I believe them.) Other sources place the losses at 15K. At what point do you begin with the land thing? The Ukrainians have been fighting the Russians and the Breakaway Ukrainians which the Russians drafted into this war since 2014. From a long distance perspective, the Russians appear to be paying a very high price for the land.

  884. I read recently Romania has huge gas deposits in the black sea. Could there be a "crash development?" Could Germany turn it's nukes back on? They are going back to coal to help with this issue and this is mined in Europe. I guess it's not really the oil they are short on but the gas. In World War 2 the Nazis used the Fisher Tropf process to gasify coal. Coal gas was once a big industry in various places in the world for street lighting and similar things. Coal gas could be fed into natural gas pipelines. Obviously, they cannot expect any relief from the Russians. They don't care if people starve due to not getting Ukrainian grain so they won't care if Europeans freeze.

Many of you realize that "trickle down" rarely exists. Putin has that money to offer people to go and fight for him. He also has a huge existing stash of money. His people are poor and many see the great money he is offering to fight in Ukraine as an opportunity and not a problem. These men are volunteering to fight for their country and to be greatly rewarded for their effort and perhaps sacrifice. How long can this go on? Well - He's got a country of 145 million to draw from. Just think, if he can convince 1 percent to go for the money, it's an army of 1,450,000. He may have "cannon fodder" for years. The internet says he's got 10,000 of these old tanks in storage. Old tanks can be reconditioned and will not need the sophisticated semiconductors of modern warfare. He is not hampered by rules and morals of any sort. Anything goes to defeat Ukraine. His own country is not being damaged in this war. All of the destruction is taking place on Ukrainian soil. For years his people have been taught that Russia is alone in this world and the valiant struggle for the motherland is to bring great honor. They will support him. And,.....he can tell them anything to ensure he will continue to get their support because he controls the entire information flow. Well, did I do the troll thing OK?

That's over a million men Russia has a population of about 143 million. They don't send women. So, that's 71.5 million men total. (283,080+829,240) /(71,500.000) X 100 = 1.55 percent of the men. Then add the guys who left the country. It's got to be hitting Russia sooner or later. What country would want to lose all those men with no valid reason?
