@brandonstanley9125 Elon Musk does not have to worry about groceries going up, his 401K evaporating and so forth. He is one that can afford to be empathetic.

@ianporter2446 I thought this was an excellent little essay. For a bit there I thought you were going to ignore the effects of Reaganomics and off shoring. I think this economic policy gave birth to Trump supporters. Your description of Trump appealing to those left behind by the offshoring of manufacturing could include the fact that the Democratic party came a bit to look down on these people. The "Basket of Deplorables" comment by Hillary did not help. You also tended to ignore racism which unfortunately is still a force that influences all too many voters. Another factor that weighs in and gives a reason why less legislation passes that is for the "common good" is the lobbying. I wonder what Jake thinks.

Good Video - Today's total of Russian losses is 279,080 being joined by another 510 in the past 24 hours. How anyone can look at this slaughter and not condemn Putin is beyond me. Even the Bots don't seem to try any more. You don't hear the rhetoric that the people of Donetsk and Luhansk were yearning to be free of Ukraine any more. Instead you hear how the Russians have drafted all able bodied males in those areas and sent them into meat waves. I don't get this Musk guy. He could have been a big hero to the majority of the world. It seems like he has some screws loose upstairs. Maybe the historians will figure this chaos out after a generation or two, Russia needs to leave. Give Ukraine a deserved peace so that they help Europe prosper. Thanks Jake.
