Now for some years industries have been touting these small modular molten salt reactors. They say they produce maybe 2 percent of the long lived waste that the reactors of today do. They say since the fuel is molten that you can't have a melt down. (Makes a lot of sense). They say they can use Thorium which is far more common than Uranium and gives the bonus of supplying rare earth elements when mined. They also say they can make breeder reactors so we don't run out of fuel. If allowed, some say these could be built relatively cheaply. They say it is very difficult to make bomb material from these reactors. Doesn't it make sense to allow people to build one of these on the North American continent? Why not fund such a thing? These reactors should actually produce power in the ten years old Joe is talking about. (I like Joe) Oh and by the way, the Chinese are building one. Good video Peter.
